What Kind of life is that? It gives us such beautiful, talented and charismatic People, who gave us so much, and we have to watch how they are destroyed by it ... R.I.P. David Cassidy ... May the angels in heaven hold you in their arms and heal your beautiful soul

Thanks for sharing this. I had never seen it and this interview - like so many others I have watched since he died - reveals how hard the rise and fall of the Partridge family fame really was for him. As I have stated before, he was an incredibly sensitive soul, one that was not built for the Hollywood machine that builds you up and then spits you out. That experience, combined with his childhood wounds and his innate temperament created the thing that I see most clearly now: the pain that beautiful smile could not hide. He is now in a place where he is pain free and singing with angels. RIP you beautiful soul.

I was about 10 years old when David Cassidy found fame. I didn't understand the impact that must have had on him and how out of control he must have felt at the time but I do now. It must have been so lonely being that famous and not having that one person to help and to guide you when you can't even walk quietly down the street. That must impact on your whole future life because nothing can be normal after that craziness. I sincerely hope he is at peace now and that his family are proud of the mark he made.

David's father was terribly jealous of his fame. How could he feel good about himself when his own father was in competition with him. He didn't really have a father (a role model), so I think David is painfully insecure.

I hate the term "has been." I never understand how a human being can be labeled this way! I find this interview is much too deep for the interviewer. I loved David, and feel SO much pain for him. If he hadn't abused alcohol, and sought therapy (perhaps he did?), he could have dealt with some of his demons.
@mollypopp24687 жыл бұрын
Rose Petal ... Yes, at the urging of his now ex-wife, Sue Schrifner, he did go into therapy for quite a while and said that it helped.

In many interviews David mentions he went through 5 years of therapy, 3 days per week. Can you imagine the hard work he put into his recovery to find himself after being portrayed as Keith Partridge for so long? Inevitably David was successful in re-establishing his own identity once again. Brilliant how he did it, I think. It takes a lot of guts to walk away from it all, but as he further explained, he never lost the tag of being famous; he always had that. It was ultimately his decision when he would pick up as himself, David Cassidy, and continue his dream as an actor, singer--performing his choice of music and living the rock and roll life that he craved and did so well. Then to magnify his talents that lead him to star in musicals, Broadway shows and stylized concerts--not to mention songwriter for others. David truly was quite exceptional in his talents. However, no matter how much therapy or 'happy ' he had in his life, afflictions followed him, tormented him, and he was human after all, we all can only take so much--death of parents, divorces, ill health, etc. Weakens one's spirit. Despite it all, David was truly dedicated to his fans and never gave up on all of us. A piece of me died when he did. I shall miss him greatly. Thank you sweet David for bringing so much happy into our lives through your voice, your music your smile. God bless you! 💙❤💗

@Bluuve7 жыл бұрын
That's not true, he's NOT bipolar! Thanks to his wife , Sue, he got a good therapist, to come to terms w/ his parents deeds and the way they weren't close with him. He mostly suffered from that neglect, though they had no ill intentions, just had to work all the time, (both were actors) . He's been diagnosed with dementia in 2015, so it has been affecting him a few years b4 that. (When ppl said his behavior was alcohol induced). So let's NOT play internet therapists! He now needs all his fans & his Family to support him in this difficult time. I'm going to be pulling for him, and truly wish him well. My Family and I enjoyed him both on the PF show and all his other roles, B'way , LasVegas, & all his music. He'll always be tops as far as great voice and showmanship. He also truly likes his audiences and thrives on their good vibes and good wishes. Go David!

@denisejervis86026 жыл бұрын
According to reports, the mother didn't tell, the daughter, about David being her father, until 2015,16? Until then, she was led to believe, that her dad was someone else, a country artist, only to find out, it wasn't so. The woman does look like, she could be Katie's older sister; that, doesn't mean, she's related to David. A DNA test would have to be done. I think, there might be a test, w/out using a father's DNA. A relative of David's would have have to submit a sample. I don't think, David would purposely not acknowledge any child of his.
