During the recording process, the studio altered Cassidy’s voice to sound higher than it actually was because that was more appealing to audiences. They would adjust the audio in the studio and on set to get the perfect pitch.

His voice was so unique it gives me goosebumps and i never get tired of hearing it. I haven't said goodbye and I'm not going to. We were so blessed and very lucky to have had the honour of knowing Mr. David Cassidy 💔💔💔💔

Wow! David’s vocals are flawless. I love the unique quality of his voice. Vastly underrated artist. Also rocked THE best 70s shag cut! ❤

David truly had a unique, magnificent voice. I never get tired of hearing it. His brother Shaun has praised his voice, too. How sad that his drinking took him from us too soon. RIP, David! We'll never forget you.

Does anyone agree with me that the instrumental version heard here is MAGNIFICENT?

The a capella version AND instrumental versions are each interesting in their own way. Very well produced and performed, with the unique vocal skills of David Cassidy showcased. Brilliant!

Perfect vocals as always. I so enjoy listening to David’s unaltered voice a cappella. I encourage you to find out how you can make a couple of CDs of just his voice alone. It could be the newest fad! Thanks for this Easter gift. I really appreciate it. I’m glad that now you do the song, then just the vocals and then just the instruments. The band and back up singers should be admired as well. 😊

What a great time to be young. You had a little catching up to do in the world of music, but the Partridge Family was a pretty good start especially with songs like this. You watched the Beatle cartoons, and you never missed the Monkees. Sad, but you knew you grew up when the Doors and Jimi made you drop that Partridge Family album. Oh, and Three Dog Night, and the Byrds, and CSNY, and Motown, and Bread, and on, and on.

David Cassidy had a strong voice and The Partridge Family's music benefitted from being written by first class songwriters, very much like The Monkees.

It would be so cool if they re-introduced vinyl of simply Partridge family instrumentals it would be awesome to me as a fan of the show still and I just turned 62 years old yesterday.

G, this is just breathtaking!!!! I just love this so much, that I'm practically speechless!!! This is my PERFECT Easter Gift, today! and I LOVE how you put all 3 versions in that order, it's great that way! Love hearing the complete song with David's natural voice, unaltered, then allowed to experience his A Capella voice, natural, all alone, and then the instrumental, just as you did it!! this is one of my favorites, well, to be honest, all of the PF songs are my favorites!!! LOL!!!

The Sound Magazine is one of the greatest pop albums ever made. What has always puzzled me is that they only released one single from it (I Woke up in Love This Morning). They could have had at least three more giant hits: Summer Days, Echo Valley, I'm on My Way Back Home, etc).

very underrated to the music industry 🎵🎶 amazing voice....i guess those times they were more strict about standards and slightly heavy metal music bit too much ...pity they didn't go with the version without the instruments 👌🏼🎶🎵

TRIVIA : The voices in the background are NOT Shirley Jones and Susan Dey. They are a group of studio singers called "The Sunshine Company". But you can see; they matched up the vocal ranges pretty well!
@user-il5oq5df6lАй бұрын
While Susan never sang backup on PF recordings, Shirley sang backup along with members of the Wrecking Crew.

The instrumental backing track on "Rainmaker" is dynamite! Great drumming by Hal Blane and superb orchestration by Mike Melvoin.

Why the hell would anyone muck around with that vocal?

They did because they wanted David to sound like a sixteen year old

Hey g ski! I have a list for you now but didn’t want to be pushy. Will send very soon. However, I just wanted to ask if you’ve tried doing this a cappella of David’s songs as a Short or TikTok? I’m seeing voices only of other singers from obscure one hit wonder bands! Would love to have your work recognized. They just found a video of the song and put only the naked voice with it. I encourage you to try it! You started this trend!😊
@christinefrench52236 ай бұрын
Love this song, isn't it so much better with just vocals without that 'noisy' instrumentation. Just take off the backing singers and it'll be perfect! Thanks for sharing. 😊
