I still regularly listen to those first Blood, Sweat and Tears albums. Spectacular music.

His voice, the lyrics, the rhythm and arrangement - grabbed everyone's attention. It's history and a great memory. Thanks, guys.

Can't believe how young Laura Nyro was when she wrote this wise old song.
@drew-shourd21 күн бұрын
right? Wiki says she was 17 and sold the song to Petr, Paul and Mary for $5,000.

Ms. Nyro is an all time favorite of mine. Her albums are wonderful journeys. BS&T and so many others recorded songs written by Laura Nyro.

The 2nd album from Blood, Sweat & Tears came out in 1969 and won the Grammy for Album of the Year in 1970. Besides this song, it included Spinning Wheel and You’ve Made Me So Very Happy. David Clayton-Thomas left the band to pursue a solo career in 1972.

I remember, back in the 60s, David Clayton Thomas and the Shades playing at a club on Yonge Street, in Toronto. Lord, I'm old!

Leaving BS&T did nothing for his career. He thought he was bigger than the band, but he wasn't. Soon he'd be back.
