The sad thing is the NWA had reached its peak and was already in decline because of Magnum TA's car crash

I wouldn't say that Magnum's car wreck caused the decline in the NWA. Not taking anything away from Magnum but his hot run was with Crocketts territory so his wreck definitely impacted them but I wouldn't say it caused the decline in Mid South, WCCW, Paul Boesch' territory, Portland, Florida, Georgia Championship Wrestling, Amarillo territory, Memphis territory and all of the smaller territories. Memphis was the only territory that survived through the WWF expansion in the 80's and it didn't make it through the 90's. The WWF poaching talent is what killed the territories just as Dusty killed FCW when Dusty started booking for Crockett and brought up all his friends from Florida and killed the Florida territory. The NWA being unable to form a strategy to deal with WWF or come up with a bigger picture for survival outside one's own territory.
