One of the greatest solo performances in history, with incredible emotion, power and voice control. I can really relate to his performance, as I was 20 years old in 1970, when the song was written. It was the hottest part of the Vietnam war, an indescribably traumatic event in our country's history. The line "I feel like I owe it to someone" brilliantly expresses the sentiment of the song, and makes me emotional every time I hear it.

In 76 I cut mine out of respect for my 76 yr old grandpa's funeral It reached my belt at that time when I arrived my relatives said you could have got a hair cut. I don't regret it, wasn't for them anyway. Jump forward 25 yrs dad passed, another cut growing slower now but still respectable 4 inches from belt line, 2022 mom passes gone again only a 10 inch tail. Now I'm pushing 72 heads starting to look like croz. Starting to think like maybe a military cut or a razor. Hope your still amongst the living and the dome ain't shining like chrome. Just remembering.
