Performing those songs live and sounding nearly perfectly like the studio versions is absolutely astonishing. I was mesmerized. I’m 72 and like many of David’s admirers I’ve been listening to his music since The Byrds. “Those were the days my friend…we hoped they’d never end” - I don’t know about you brothers and sisters but I was smiling during this entire video. Rest peacefully David…we love you. 🙏

OMG I too was just feeling what they must have been feeling - just meeting him I was up on a cloud for 14+ hrs couldn't get to sleep that night. The "magic" of LIVE performance can not be over stated. Here we have Crosby blending perfectly with other voices he normally didn;t work with and the harmonies are just as pure as with CSN. The set list if a Crosby Greatest Hits and they for me. ALWAYS were the true soul of CSNY. These are the beautiful songs, Wooden Ships, Guienevere, etc that never sounded the exact same twice. Crosby knew how to write ''openly" so performing each time could be open to musical interpretation. This era of music no longer exists. RIP mr Crosby.
@gordonely35918 ай бұрын

...thinking of those student musicians who heard Ohio for the first time at rehearsal for this show. How they felt when they learned the story. Their understanding of what it meant to write and perform it just a few weeks after the killing. Did they know it was all over the radio? Took a lot of guts to do that. Sometimes a musician is more than just a musician when they are the conscience of a population.

David’s music was much more than just the playlist of our lives. He was its heart and soul as well. He was our voice against unfairness and injustice, and he showed us that the only way we could win was through love. Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young hold very special memories for me. I enlisted the summer of 79 prior to my 19th birthday. After basics I was sent to Ft Benning then deployed to Western Europe. I was in a very high profile military operation and being a newcomer my platoon leader invited me and several others to a jamming session in his room. Mostly he played CSNY. So with that being said and I am now 63 so 41 years later and because of the memories and listening now to his I’m really tearing up crying because so much happened in my life back then

Saw Crosby - Nash at Leicester De Montfort Hall. Possibly my greatest experience ever (though winning the Premier League was pretty cool). I have seen CSN and Neil, but that night in Leicester topped them all. I was blessed. What a huge loss. The thing about Crosby - yes, he was cantankerous at times - but, he believed in what he was doing. It's all about the truth. It's great that people get to share video like this. This is just gorgeous. I've probably watched the previously uploaded video of "Ohio" three dozen times because it just blows me away. To watch this six-song (plus bonus "track") is nothing short of magical. Crosby was one helluva guy. It's not that they broke the mold after they made him, it's that there was no mold; he was made freehand. Thanks to Venice and all those responsible for getting this out there. Love to you all. (And just one side-note: Try watching this keeping an eye, whenever possible, on the young woman playing violin to the immediate right of the drumkit. Her enthusiasm is positively infectious.)

That last song was, is and will remain forever monumental. It vibrates through my spine each time I hear it. Its the pinnacle of their legacy. Saw CSN once in Montreux. They kept playing. From 8 pm until midnight. Just unbelievable. It was like standing on the Matterhorn and taking in awe. Mind blowing.
