The fact that Hila really defended Trisha in such a powerful way by bringing up situations of abuse. It's clear that she genuinely listened to both Nik and Trisha. She genuinely understood how traumatizing it was for them. Much peace and love Hila.

Yeah, it used to annoy me when people would talk over her. It doesn't happen much anymore, but out of everyone I always wanted to hear her opinion/take on subjects, because I feel like she has the most rational mindset when it comes to chiming in because she always has a calm and collected, unbiased approach regarding non-personal topics.
@AArz-mq4ts
@AArz-mq4ts 3 жыл бұрын
True but then she to me she sometimes lacks sympathy in certain fairly fucked up topics and doesn't see why it comes off wrong, I'm specifically thinking of trisha & Moses catfishing debacle and the Instagram vs reality vid. I get the point of the video but the argument of Ethans only calling her a twinkle because of the touched up photo is not working, its still bodyshaming. The whole point of why Tana may have felt the need to edit the photo is because people comment harshly on women's bodies and Ethan was playing into it regardless of his intent. Still love her though and would probably not even watch the podcast if she wasn't there as a voice of reason haha

So glad Hila schooled AB, she really explained everything so well. I don't necessarily think AB is a bad guy, but he admitted he's never been in an abusive situation so he's completely ignorant to how it feels to be in one and how people handle them, people who haven't experienced abuse often seem to think it's much less common than it is because they haven't personally encountered it. I hope AB will take this criticism as a learning opportunity...

And he’s trying to play the “devil’s advocate” card when clearly he believed everything he said. Which I don’t understand why anyone would need to do that for someone who’s clearly a toxic person anyways. You don’t always need a different perspective especially when it’s one that’s dismissing and disrespectful towards people. He also liked to mention that he’s an advocate against abuse and was just ignorant on the topic, but said he prepared his statements and clearly understood the situation. You cannot be an advocate against abuse when you’re using abuse-apologist tactics. Also, that literally doesn’t excuse anything. A lot of people who are outspoken against something are hypocrites. Also also, why is he an advocate when he says he’s ignorant about these topics? Maybe let someone who understands what they’re talking about speak instead of taking up space spreading your hateful comments. He outright accused a sexual assault victim of being a liar. That’s fucked up.

the thing with ab saying its normalized, its all jokes and everyone does it to each other... is the entire issue. clearly david has made a scene where boundaries are crossed, framed as jokes and he does take it to far. puts things in that people say not to . so yes david is still guilty of all that trisha is saying even if she joined in on it. there's some videos i saw of him just surprising her at the airport and she clearly isnt happy to see him, doesnt want to be filmed and he is just being an annoying golden retriever intentionally trying to bug her. like the fact he normalized it isnt good. just because the people get victimized by him like nick go back and forth of liking him, not liking him and feeling hurt does mean that what david created as normalcy still wasnt ok, they're literally just trying to cope. and not to mention that he doesnt pay anyone in his vlog squad and only gives jason 10 percent of the podcast. thats awful. thats elitist hollywood greed right there. I loved how hila immeadiately had Trisha’s back though. When she told AB that the only reason he was excusing David’s behavior (and blaming others in the vlogs) was bc AB’s never experienced abuse and he has no idea what the hell he’s talking about. It immeadiately dismantled his whole argument; which is awesome! I love how hila’s able to sound so polite as she tells people that they’re full of shit 😂

If you're playing along with jokes for (years?) and never say that they're upsetting you, I'm not sure you have much ground to stand on when you claim to be a victim of abuse. I felt like hila's take on this was off, she's acting like hes stuck in an abusive relationship when really he's just unhappy with jokes about him in his friend group and never spoke up.
