Because I CHOOSE to no longer dye my hair she said.. she and her friend had critiqued it .. in London.. and said I should dye it and it was all over the place.. yeah.. IT WAS.. I was enjoying myself on a windy beach.. in a lot of pain but smiling regardless trying to connect with a younger friend and her young daughters.. It was a happy occasion. I have my hair professionally cut and styled ever 4/5 weeks and have done all my adult life. I keep it styled too. I am neat tidy and clean and wear what is comfortable given my bad mobility these days. A nice top, jacket and trousers. I was not in a sack. I didnt let her ruin it but told her .. politely.. exactly where to out her opinions.. i then did something I was brought up never to do.. and I finally did it aged 63.. i retaliated.. and said.. I mean, i could talk about your overly masculine hair cut and your wing nut ears, COULDNT I.. she crumpled at that.. didnt like the same treatment. Being nice hadn't worked.. appealing to her better nature didn't work. the third time.. retaliating in kind.. against my nature.. worked a treat. lol. Absolutely, unfortunately I had the same experience with my ex friend who was one of my maid of honors I had two. Reason why I actually had two was because after I announced my engagement she stopped talking to me, I tried texting her multiple times and I asked her to be my maid of honor the same day I announced I was married. I knew she has a bad engagement a year prior but I was hoping she was healed from it. I broke up with my long time boyfriend when she announced her engagement and I called her immediately to congratulate her and was so excited for her. Months later we reconciled when I messaged her on FB she claimed that she changed her number and forgot to tell me and she was upset that she found out I was engaged through FB instead of calling her. I did call her first, and it didn’t make sense because I found out she was engaged through FB. So I knew it was a bs excuse anyway we decided to make up and I first ask her to be a bridesmaid. She was really trying to make it up to me and i eventually asked her to be a 2nd MOH after my other MOH encouraged me to do so because she knew we were friends since we were kids. It was a huge mistake, my whole wedding party could not stand her. After the wedding I tried to hang out with her, I was always the one to reach out to her first. She started snapping at me for dumb little things and in her head she thought it was ok to treat me that way because of everything she has done for me as a bridesmaid, she even told me this. She would make me feel so guilty over little things and she would say “I can’t believe you, after everything I did for you as a MOH.” I just ignored it after a while. After I was pregnant the first time I has a miscarriage and I was at least fortunate enough to get pregnant months later but I didn’t tell anyone about the miscarriage except my husband and parents. Even my brother didn’t know about it. I was so nervous tell anyone that I was pregnant and then losing another baby, I just final made a simple announcement on FB after I found out the gender. Every one congratulated me and no one was upset about not knowing sooner except her. She got so upset that I didn’t tell her in person and freaked out on me. I then decided to completely cut off the friendship, I was a very high risk pregnancy and was on bed rest I wasn’t going to let anyone upset especially over petty crap. She got so upset that I wasn’t responding back that I even had to file a restraining order because she started threatening me. She completely went off the deep end. It was nuts. Now I know better if I see any red flag of toxic behavior in someone, I stay the hell away from them.

ProTip: don’t invite those friends and family members who tend to be the drama to be a part of your wedding planning. I had a very close relative who started bullying me about my plans once I was engaged and booked the venue. She ended up being un-invited in the end, and I still avoid her as much as possible. Don’t involve them! Don’t feel obligated to invite them to the wedding either if you don’t think they’re going to behave. They’ll only cause a lot of heartache in the end.

Based on the comments, I knew we were going to be dealing with a narcissist even before the video started. Then the way the woman introduced herself as "wonderful", I knew it to be true. I grew up with a parent who talked to me this way constantly. I developed an eating disorder because of it. The smile says it all. Narcissists hate when attention is taken away from them and they feel gleeful hurting people. That behavior at the end I've seen too. Narcs learn how to act so as to PRETEND they can be nice, but it's entirely fake. They also gaslight a lot and try to make fun of you for feeling hurt and blame you for being sensitive. It's a shame this beautiful young lady felt the need to bring such a woman to her dress fitting, but sadly this is normalized in a lot of families and people are pressured to include their mean relatives. Take it from me, you don't!
