+Mark Angellotti "William Lane Craig's arguments rest on a series of unfounded assumptions." I call bullshit. Which of the premises do you think is false? "First, he assumes God exists." That's... no part of his arguments, no. You don't have to assume god exists to see *any* of the premises are more plausibly true than their negations. "Then he assumes God is good." That's not in any of his premises, either. I'm beginning to think you're faulting him for being a Christian before/without even *looking* at the arguments he presents. A sort of premature dismissal of him on a personal level... "Then he assumes objective moral values exist. But he has not proven any of this." While that is indeed one of the premises in one of his arguments, it isn't just an assumption. He gives a *reason* to believe in objective morality, this being our moral senses. And he argues (and I agree) that for any argument you can run to be skeptical of our moral senses, we can find a parallel argument for skepticism of our *physical* senses. Moreover, the moral argument isn't essential to his cumulative case for Christian theism. So even if I granted your claim that it rests on unfounded assumptions, it wouldn't affect his other, more essential arguments in the slightest. "The problem of evil is extremely potent." Then you need to be the one to support its key premise. Why do you think we can be confident that god couldn't possibly have morally sufficient reasons for permitting suffering/evil in the world? "If God exists, why allow children to starve to death and suffer painful deaths?" That's not an argument, just a question. If this is to be more than just emotionally charged rhetoric, you need an argument to show that there can't be a good reason for such things. And remember, if we exist for an eternity, that would surely have to be the realm of significance, not this one. "Sure, theists can say, "But God works in mysterious ways. God might have a good reason for allowing children to starve to death." But as long as the reasons are not provided, we have no reason to believe God exists-" That's a non sequitur. It ignores all of the *other* reasons (Craig's other arguments, personal experiences, etc.) that one could have. "and if God were to exist, we have no reason to believe God's reasons for allowing children to starve are valid reasons." But no reason to believe they *aren't* valid, either, which is the point. The problem of evil is an anti-theistic argument. You as the proponent of the argument have the burden of proof to show that the aforementioned hidden premise (that god could not have morally sufficient reason to permit suffering) is true. Unless and until you can do that, the problem of evil argument fails. "All the suffering in the world supports the idea that we live in a naturalistic world, not an intelligently designed world." It doesn't support either in and of itself, no. You need that other premise to form an argument.

@Vic2point03 жыл бұрын
@@AbandonedVoid Not at all. Why did Jesus call Peter a 'rock' if he was to 'build' a community or assembly?

Quoting a philosopher is like quoting the bible, Philosophy is personal opinion stated from a perceived place of authority. Their is no peer review for philosophy so it is not good pathway to the truth. I do not believe one word any Philosopher even today has to say. Einstein used Philosopher's to get an ignorant view of his work. Not answers.

Let's think critically and go with the odds. Best I understand the process, there's about 19 steps, in order, to change Lanosterol to cholesterol. Cholesterol, of course, is used all over the body. That comes out to 121 645 100 408 832 000 or so. 121 and a wad of zeros after it. There's that many ways this could go wrong and be out of order. Factorializing 19. It struck me one day that that number to 1 could be, yes, perhaps in some ways, the odds that there must be God. Sounds a bit humorous, but it does give someone reason to stop. At least if you don't believe by faith alone. Not to mention that process has to be encoded in your DNA to even make it happen at all. Let's pretend that's a proof of God. Now. What were you saying?
@LucasChoate7 жыл бұрын
Why a god? Why not a cholesterol genie? Or, better, a physiology genie? The thing is, it is just plain poor logic to insert a hypothesis as the solution to the question. That said, outside of abiogenesis, how life works is well understood. The origin of cholesterol included. When the facts are stacked up together, the case for a fully natural evolution from chemical origins becomes really solid. No gods needed for that.

Lucas Chemical origins? So, how did the chemicals originate? Maybe, from energy. So, how did energy originate?

@@danderran If your proof of God is your unproven assumption that all things originate from something, then that would have to include God by necessity, and thus there can't be a God. You'd instead see time extending infinitely into the past. Please come up with something more original than the Clockwork Fallacy. Give us hard, observable, verifiable evidence and not some long-debunked philosophical rhetoric you pull out of thin air.

This man acting as a clown surrounded by foolish people giving him a clap for his deceptive delirious and superstitious talking. What can man expect from someone raving on things he has no conscious of it. He is considered as an atheist has nothing to do with the truth,for he lives just into his fantasy world. He enjoys his body mind only. He has lost spirit. He is considered as dead person, no life in him. I feel pity for him. I hope that one day, he may be revived out of the deaths people.

What a waste of space you are. If you're going to make a critical comment, then make at least some effort to offer counter-arguments to the points being raised rather than throwing insults around.

@@OrthodoxJoker *don’t like that do you* LOL Don't like what? Your facile and baseless comments? I couldn't care less thanks ;) I couldn't care less because you've presented zero arguments or evidence so you're not even taxing me or anyone. *There is plenty of evidence* No there isn't, indeed, there is precisely zero objective evidence any god has ever existed including the one you blindly worship. *Look at the state of society today a godless society full of degeneracy* WTF is a 'godless society' even supposed to mean? You see, the god described in your bible was a genocidal, vindictive, vengeful and child killing monster. Now our society is far from perfect, however, it's a lot better than a society that would align itself with how your god allegedly behaved. And 'degeneracy?' Again, what's that supposed to mean? Of course, none of what you said here is remotely evidence for any god's existence. Try harder, much harder. *Biblical prophecy coming true all the time* Not one single claimed prophecy in the bible fulfils the criteria for a genuine prophecy, not a single one. So no, none of your so called ambiguous, open to interpretation prophecies have 'come true' as none of them have ever qualified as such. *Wake up* No, you grow up and stop believing in something that is indistinguishable from something that doesn't exist. Perhaps listen to what David Fitzgerald said in his presentation in this video and make an effort to hear the points being made. If you cannot present any valid counter-arguments then that ought to set off alarm bells with the position you hold. Either you care what's actually true or you just want to believe what you want to believe. So let me spell this out for you - If you're planning on responding then do so with argument or qualified criticism, if you intend to post the same crap you've already posted, then do us both a favour and disappear.

here you go the Greek word for plagiarism, Which is what all middle eastern religion`s are built on, That word your looking for is plagion, All middle eastern religion are built on the religion that came before them in the case of judiasm and christianity, At least 240 religion prior to christianity. The torah the jews follow to day is nothing like the torah from early judiasm, their where many gods in early judaism, They turned into the various character's you see to day. The great exosus was abbling account of 40 jews taken as slaves bye the persians and taken to a slave center some 40 odd days from where they where taken. Thier was not millions wondering the desert for 40 years, the logistics alone would take years of planning even to day with technology.
