Join this free online workshop with NWOP finalist David Frazer to explore the fundamentals of linocut printmaking and the processes behind making a simple, single colour linocut print. David will discuss the cutting tools, the relief printing surface, how to ink up and ultimately the best ‘pressing’ technique for an at-home studio printmaker.
During David’s printing process he does also use cheap acrylic paint to colour the lino surface, a piece of Perspex or glass to prepare the ink (you could also use a time or a smooth plate) and a hairdryer to soften the lino square. Prior to printing, you might like to set yourself up with these workshop materials as well. We have included a sheet of carbon transfer paper (in the Art Box) if you have a drawing you would like to transfer onto the lino square.
