Even that any Gilmour performance is superb, Hammersmith Odeon 1984 Gilmour performance will blow your mind, soul and ears!

You know something, when I first found it it was. Then the grand finale of the final solo would have me thinking fuck the world is ending. Lol and would freak me out. Now I play it on my own guitar and reeeeeally piss off my neighbors with it. 😂

you can hear how so much similarity with the Pulse solo. Wow, he is the master of the solo and subtle changes to make it different every night. God love him.

Com toda certeza o mais lindo solo de guitarra feito para uma canção de todos os tempos!!!!

I’ve listened to seriously everything there is to hear on a guitar. From early 50’s rock and roll beginning with sister rosette Harpe, to BB KING, Gary more, Hendrix, Van Halen, not van haggar, skinner, Def Leppard , you get the point. From 8:07-9:17 is the most incredible lick played on a guitar. He’s never played like that again either. Sometimes good guitarist feel like they’re show boats by playing something so bold and he knows, that was goood… probably plays like that in private

Those licks give me images of Gilmour making the sky rain fire and ice. Pure amazingness. Gilmour is a wizard!

Definitely the greatest version ever. Just wow.

There are much better. This version is ruined by the same sort of screaming prick in a crowd that made Roger Waters want to create this album in the first place at 3:56 and throughout. The baritone sax is really annoying at the end too! You want the best version? ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZCwiX9_as2se8U or possibly: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aHyahYhnfc2Sabc

Good to see this one back on here. My favorite version of Comfortably Numb. 1994 at New Orleans was amazing. But the recording quality of this one is superior to me

For me, the Best sound.... And the bass line at the and was amazing.....
@southbayrickybobby58202 жыл бұрын
@@fedricolucchi5914 Guy Pratt sure knows how to bang those strings. I get a lot of crap for saying it but Roger Waters geld Pink Floyd back. With him, this monumental, unequivocal, CN solo. Would not have existed on the count Waters never wanted Comfortably Numb to be about the 2nd guitar solo, but about the lyrics. Which can easily be seen anytime Waters has played it live. Verses David Gilmour playing it live.... We all know why we love Comfortably Numb so much and it’s because the last solo. There’s length of people out there with past/current, heroin addictions that can argue the songs lyrics are much more powerful than the guitar solo. And those people tend to be socialists and gravitate towards the 310 million dollar Roger Waters. Instead of the 180 million dollar David Gilmour that auctioned off his priceless guitar collection for over 24 million dollars 100% to charity like abused women’s sheltering and feeding to climate health (and I’m a right wing American)..... I have countless times more respect for David Gilmour. And his guitar playing is above all, no matter what people say. It takes a brilliant mind to not only play what he plays, but come up with it. As an actual guitar player, it’s mind blowing

I've a version of this in my bootleg stash for many years. While I love Rafael Ravenscroft, I just don't think his sax works well in Comfortably Numb.
@canopener505ify5 жыл бұрын
I think this would be as David intended it to be, before Roger got involved.
@franklinclinton46903 жыл бұрын
Actually, the "Later years" version is the one that approaches the most of what David Gilmour wanted for this song before Roger getting involved, obviously.... He wanted it to be an instrumental song, Roger wrote the lyrics.
@josephst.george7841 Жыл бұрын
Roger wrote the verses and the lyrics, david wrote the chorus and the solos. But I still see what you mean.
@madcap_95399 ай бұрын
David wrote the chorus melody but he argued with Roger over how Roger's verses should sound. How it sounds here and especially during the AMLOR and DB tours is how David wanted it to sound while the original studio version is how Roger wanted it.

That sax just blat, blat, blating away is really annoying! It takes one's attention away from what you want to hear, and that's Gilmour's Strat. It's truly distracting.
