Been there on the 27th, it was my dream to go to David Gilmour's concert since 2006 (since I was 14). I loved every minute of it. Yes, he is 78 old, but he is still able to play for 3 hours!

I don’t know really what do you expect from him. He obviously has lost a bit his voice but he’s still great, he’s still David gilmour, he’s 78 years old, of course it’s not the same of 20 years ago but it’s still a faboulous show and our last chance to see one of the greatest musician ever lived. Talking about the guitar in my opinion he’s still on top, of course a bit rusty after 9 years but still great.

It’s sad the amount of people who come to voice their criticism of his performances, as if they expect a 78 year old man to still have the lungs he had 4 decades ago. You should all remember something, this is David fucking Gilmour, and he is above all your criticism. If you’re even still alive at 78 never mind touring, you’ll be lucky. This is a legend of British music in the flesh and for that you should be thankful. The main reason people pick up and critique minor mistakes is because his career has generally been flawless, and that’s what you come to expect every time. Welcome to the world of live music.

Get others to do vocals & play guitar 🎸 with more freedom just a thought.

78, not played live for 8 yrs, still plays guitar with total mastery. 1st show of the tour. Probably his last tour. Everyone would deteriorate to some extent. Give the guy a break. Let him bed into the songs and band.

Not the same player or singer, but lets see if we can do this at 78!? The guy is a legend. The people who expect this to be note for note on guitar and voice need to take a look at themselves really. He's not 20 anymore. We should applaud his efforts regardless.
@helder61752 ай бұрын
I feel slightly better now when I miss a step or two playing his songs on the guitar. After all, it is difficult to remember them note for note. God bless him for still doing his thing and going on tour at 78 years old... besides his admission of having "a rotten memory" when it comes to the singing and playing from a documentary he did several years ago.
@Fran_PF992 ай бұрын
For those critics, of course its not the same voice, the song is tuned half-step down and he’s 78, and of course you're gonna miss some notes here and there in the first shows of the tour after 10 years of not playing live, there are songs he didn't play in years, that happens even to a younger performer, kudos for playing live, when we have 20 yo singers lip syncing nowadays

@Kostya1987Ай бұрын
Why it’s bittersweet? I was there, it was a mezmerizing show. His guitar is just amazing and he’s in a good shape for his age. As of mistakes, everyone who plays live does them. Metallica is almost 20 years younger, but also can interrupt the song and start again when they do something wrong. It’s much better than backing tracks
@tjh780Ай бұрын
@@Kostya1987 it’s bittersweet in that we’re watching the decline of an icon. Yes, he’s still amazing (sweet,) but he is declining and that reminds us that his time left with us is dwindling (bitter.) Metallica, unfortunately, have been declining since the early 90’s.

I was there, it was extraordinary. I’d MUCH rather see a live, real, honest, raw performance, than some lip-synced nonsense that some other “artists” put out. It’s true that his voice has changed, but people who post these videos-and those that watch them-would do well to remember that this is a live show, performed for the people who attend, and we are attending for the atmosphere, the experience, the reality. If you want perfection, wait until the sanitised, cleaned-up tour dvd is released in a few months.
