I got to see him for the first time in NYC on this tour. It was everything I had hoped for and more!

Well done as always. And a big thank you for the backing track. I'll definitely be using it.

I saw N1 at MSG. 5th row, center. I was getting some amp tone as well as FOH mix. I thought DG sounded amazing. It was a pretty naked tone. There wasn’t much to hide behind in other words. Clear and cutting. The modulation was so chewy and wet but not muddy or in the way. He must be splitting a signal and there was always a dry signal coming thru. I dunno… this show blew my mind. I was in rapture. The Luck and Strange tunes are great. The interplay with his daughter was really heart warming to see. Their voices work really well together. The band was incredible. That was my first and maybe last opportunity to see him live and I am so glad I did. 🤘😎🤘

Thanks for sharing! Yes, he's splitting the signal from the pedals/effects rack into a mono for each of the Hiwatt+Alessandro and Yamaha amps.

Unfortunately didn't show anywhere near me but was able to see the 2016 tour. Was an amazing night and an absolute dream come true so I'll always have that and cherish it for the rest of my life.

what a great video, explaining mixing, mics and reverbs and everything. thank you! I did realize the delay was low on album, but I definitely realize now that the live tones were very dry too when you mentioned it. about rotating speaker, sorrow intro had a dominating rotary effect. I was at the very front row and speakers were literally in front of me. it was very much "in your face" great jam too, ow yeah!

Yes, I've seen the tour and listened to the record. I would agree with you. Less delay and a brighter tone. Nice review. Thanks!

I saw David's first concert in LA. The brand-new Intuit Dome acoustics were the best I've heard in a large auditorium. I sat 5th row back. I noticed he had to physically walk back himself and just his amp and added a bit more high-end. Must have had to adjust to the space. His tone was clean and absent were the strong echoes that I've heard on previous albums. His voice was amazing and his guitar playing was masterful. Loved that concert so much, that I immediately booked a trip to see his last concert an Madison Square Gardens. Completely different acoustics. Fantastic concert as well. History unfolding. I ordered a Tube Driver right from the builder himself. We met at a Starbucks where he shared all kinds of cool stories about all the guitarists that use is pedal. Great guy, glad I snapped a photo while I was there. GAve him about 5 cases of beer as a thank you! ;). I built most of my Pedalboard from Gilmourish reviews. Including: BK Butler Tube Drive Effectrode PC-2A Compressor Buffalo FX Evolution Buffalo FX Patriot Mojo Hand FX Nebula Phaser Hartman Analog Flanger Electric Orange Moon-Vibe CostaLab Chorus Pure Tone Buffer Strymon El Capistan Tape Echo ISP Technologies Hum Extractor + Decimator G TC Electronics PolyTune 2 Evidence Audio Cables Thanks Bjorn!

I will never forget that amazing performance 🎵👌 Again thanks for keeping up your website updated, i’m always looking on it to improve my tones as a bedroom guitarist 👍!!

To be honest the best guitar tone ive ever heard was on your solo from "Where are you now". I cry everytime I hear IT and if youve ever had to say how does a soul sound like - IT would be it. ❤❤❤

Lovely playing at the end Bjorn! Sounded inspired by A Single Spark and Scattered, which are coincidentally my 2 favourite tracks on the album. Watching the live footage as the tour progressed I was struck by your comment on an earlier video about how he improves as the tour goes on. For me that was undeniably the case, with his voice also. By MSG he was on fire. I love his tones on the album, even if I miss his adventurism with effects. No one sounds or plays like him. I feel like I’m not hearing enough feedback from people on how Scattered is one of the best things he’s done in a long time, and one of his best solos. It just keeps growing on me. Keep up the great work, I took away some great tips from this vid for my own home recordings. All the best mate!

Nice Playing! I enjoyed your composition. Yeah, my stand out track on the LP and in concert was "Scattered" I assume that was yours too based on the backing track you composed.

I've been to Rome on 1. October and it was truly magical. My setup is fairly simple - Fender Strat with CS Fat 50s' -> CTC Phi v2 compressor in FET mode -> Bluesbreaker (for clean boost) -> TS9 (for OD tones) -> Ram's Head -> ctc TI:ME delay -> Marshall DSL40CR. I'm waiting for Christmas to buy myself a nice reverb

Great job, thank you! I think I prefered his tones on this tour to the last one. I thought this time his playing was a bit weaker technically (as well as singing) but surprisingly better creatively than 2015-16, when he improvised, especially on Marooned. Maybe that's the impact of the new band that pushed him out of his comfort zone. I still listen to the album, and the songs that have passed the test of (a short) time are now Scattered - the contrast between the powerful solo and fragile last verse strikes me; Single Spark, Black Cat, Vita Brevis. But there is at least a one bit that I like in every song. Check out our tour vlog from Rome and London (eng sub): kzbin.info/www/bejne/h5fPiZqPaqx1a5o&pp=ygUXc3BvZGVrIHRhamVtbmljIHBvZGNhc3Q%3D

Hi Bjorn, amazing playing as always. I do have a question do you think a H&k tube meister 36 could work well with a tube driver? I’m currently deciding between the tdy and a butler.

His tones were, in fact, far *less* trebly than on the last tour.

They might have been. I suppose it also comes down to where you stand or sit in the venue. My assumptions are based on listeing to KZbin and talking to others that's been to the shows. Cheers!

@@gilmourishofficial There is near universal agreement that Pompeii was by far the brightest and many find it unlistenable. IMHO it is also clearly audible in the comparison of footage from this and last tour. But anyways, there is not really a point in arguing.
