After all these years I finally figured out what Roy said to David at the onset. He said, "Is this my walk on part in the war Dave?" One less mystery in the world to worry about then.

Within the year 1984, the drummer Chris Slade played with Dave Gilmour, Mick Ralphs, Roy Harper, Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers. His agent deserves a medal.

I remember the first time I saw this... over 35 years now. I'd broken my leg, was sitting at home with nothing to do, and got my mom to buy this VHS and Pompeii out of the back of a comic or guitar mag. This video still blows me away, decades later. Awesome.

Are you kidding ? About Face was amazing and I'm sure DG is absolutely proud of that amazing output. Holds many special memories for me - What I wouldn't give to go back to '84 !!

well he did a live recording for t.v. one time. He performed Theres no way out of here, No way, and So far away I think. You can find the videos by just searching one of the songs "live". Hope this helped!

These comments about Roger Waters and who knows what are so annoying. This is a great video, enjoy it for what it is. Roger was great, David was great, Pink Floyd was great, that's enough for me.

yeah most people just have 0 idea what they are talking about. I find the mindless comments entertaining, attributing "writing" credits to things like lyrics. Roger wrote the lyrics, the band jammed Dark Side into its musical aspects, I just love seeing those comments haha

The RAT- IT'S GLOWING, I THINK. MAYBE IT'S JUST THE MDA & LSD w/Mescaline. I'm not fkg sure anymore. I'm just glad for the remastered release of the '70s LPs from Burgers>>>>> & Vital Parts' LP. What a great Drummer! Shame about the endurance factor. I've a good LIVE 'Short & Sweet' by Dave Gilmore & Roy Harper together up right after 'In The Kingdom'. YEAH!!

I think that is Chris Slade on drums? Originally from Manford Mann's Earth Band? and then played with The Firm (with Jimmy Page and the singer from Bad Company Paul Rodgers)? And even sat in with AC/DC on one album I believe (Thunderstruck)?

The intro of this always reminded me of a rip-off of Run Like Hell..which isn't really surprising, as David obviously wrote that one..Great video to see, however !

@OfficialNeilGard ... how can a song that was recorded in 1979 be born out of a song that was recorded in 1984? Gilmours the best, but not good enough to time travel.. other way around, dude.

Roger Waters was and is highly overrated. The two PF albums released after Waters split were superior to Waters solo material. The evidence is in The Final Cut, Waters pretty much wrote that entire album by itself, and didn't even come close to measuring up to their earlier albums.
