Finally Someone Uploaded David Jefferies Isle Of Man TT Lap 😀😈

I was fortunate enough to know Dave Jefferies as a result of growing up in the same town, shipley in bradford, west yorkshire. His dad owned and still owns several motorcycle dealerships in Shipley and Bradford, but hes not the same man he was before Dave left this world. Its heartbreaking to see, but his father, Tony, is a broken man and I dont think he'll ever get over the tragic death of his Son. God rest Dave's soul, and may god ease Tony jefferies pain.

I knew the family well too. We were practically neighbours. My brother was best friends with David in his early teens and we all went to the same schools. It's so sad to hear that only Louise (David's sister) is left from the immediate family. Pauline (Tony's wife) died some time ago and Tony died last year. I think Nick, Dave's uncle is still with us though, a great racer himself. Such a talented family and a sad loss. I find it hard to watch clips of DJ as I remember him as a teenager.

it's nice to hear David's voice again after such a long time, i used to hear it quite often as i worked for his dad Tony for 3 years, he was a great guy, daft as a brush as we say in yorkshire, i was very sad to hear of his death but as he always told me if he was gonna go it would be at "full hole " doing something he loved. rest in peace my friend.

This was my first year at the TT, went with my dad (rip) I remember first time watching DJ down Bray hill and my dads reaction when I first seen him thunder down the road, I had to take a short intake of breath the speed was frightening, for me he was the most spectacular rider i've seen. I chatted to him in 2003 at scarborough about the forthcoming TT, and was devastated when i heard he'd been killed at crosby, I was there that year but decided to come home after the incident, one of my sporting idols had been killed. I've been back many times since, watching the bravest men on earth, still watch halfway down bray hill remembering the first time I saw Big Dave.

They are the bravest sportsmen on earth no one can or even tries toargue against this. Makes you very proud of our part of the world. They exemplify the spirit of it.He mentions the Crosby corner as “very scary “ as he approaches it on this video. Still he approaches it lap after lap full attack with this apprehension in order to achieve his dream. That is the definition of bravery. Have you ever seen his gravestone??? The words written on it are very powerful! RIP David Jefferies ❤

At about 2mins in he says "this is really scary corner" always sends shivers down my body as that was the corner he died on. RIP DJ

I wonder how scary can be if it took 2 laps to run it flat-out even to a talent like David

@Zarp Sterr According to John Mcguiness a marshall stepped out in from of him and killed em both instantly.

@@jacobhendrickson8935 That's not what happened. Practice week, Thursday afternoon, a bike had dropped a oil on the entry to the corner at Crosby, DJ was at full speed lost the front on the oil and hit the stone wall. The marshall incident was in Kirk Michael with another rider.

@@cocker1177 This was the way I understood Jeffries incident that’s what made me question the Marshall comment. Jeffries was my favorite from back when he was on the R1. Freaking awesome on a motorbike.

There are old pilots and there are bold pilots....but there ain`t too many old, bold pilots. He was all over the shop until he got dialed in. Big bloke, easy to fall into slower bends, as we saw at Ballacraine. That bike was a bit of an animal though. I`d say best vid of the great DJ was on open roads on Mad Sunday, threading through traffic at speed, absolutely sublime.

One of the finest riders every to race a bike. Read about his death in a newspaper while having breakfast at Harbour Lights Peel, what a shock at the time. He was the one to watch. RIP

Such a great rider and nice person. I knew him and his family for many years as my brother was friends with him and he lived round the corner from me. I was at his funeral the year after this was filmed. Tragic loss.

I've been a racing fan all of my life. Mostly cars and bikes. This certainly is not the first time that I have watched racing at the Isle of Man but it is the first time that I have caught a video of a full lap with commentary. This was really fantastic! This is one of only two races (that I know of) that can be counted down in minutes rather than seconds. The other one that comes to mind is the Nurburgring Nord Sclife.

Funniest big man on the TT, that was one record Steve set to be unbeaten for 11 years ,shows more so now as the records beaten nearly every year , he beat it on flying lap and next day on standing start ,Suzie commented to him on flying lap the day before , so he said jump on for a seater jokingly( she said fat chance getting on that ) and then beat it from standing start , sadly missed as a hugely admired for being a great guy, you wanna look at his footage off the bike, funny funny guy

Big David he was a great talent It would have been nice to see back then a duel: DJ vs Hizzy ! Perhaps a duel similar to that of Foggy on 1992 !? ;)
@Luke-Harno34 жыл бұрын
@@alanjones4747 I think Hislop would have won... I saw them both in those periods. Hizzy in 1994 and DJ in 1999, both phenomena, but Hislop was able to ride any type of motorcycle. The limit of DJ it was his size. But both born for road racing with intelligence at the limit of risk unique. Legens.

You cant really compare Dj's lap to hickman. Years of difference in terms of bike technology and other factors you have to remember this was 2002

There is no way to tell the difference between a 125 and 135 mph lap. If you can see the difference, it's because of the camera placement/focus. Hislop's '94 lap and Donald's 2013 lap look faster, and both were on smaller bikes.
