I feel the passage of time. It marches onward, and I am its witness. It's a bittersweet and a somber feeling, and while celebrating the good times that were, and the good times to come, I find that I can indeed still listen to this song, For aeons😊

I just had to sit back and close my eyes to be able to really take this in. Here's what I get from this. Once taken for granted, Luna's nights were not appreciated for their deep beauty. After her transformation and banishment, everypony saw what they never realized. As wondrous as Celestia's days were, she could never create a night to compare to those made by her sister. Now 1000 years later, the beauty of Luna's night has been revealed to a new generation.

+Foolmeonce you're on the right track! It was a bit of a home brew rpg that tried to minimize dice rolling and maximize the role play atmosphere. Mechanically it was based around d6 with the following conditions: if the feat that you want to perform corresponds with your Mark then you'll most likely succeed because it is your special talent (roll 4 d6, target is 10) and if the feat someone else is attempting corresponds with your Mark you can help them succeed (roll 1 d6 and add to their roll, target is 10). You want your players to succeed if possible so to not take away from their narrative, critical successes lead to awesomeness and criticalfailures lead to comedy because it's ponies after all. ;) The story was 4 strangers are brought together by circumstance, encounter an ancient entity (left over from Doctor Whooves and Assistant), and learn about the friendship while saving the worlds in the process. That the players chose their characters to be Markless (Pegasus, Earth pony, Unicorn, and Zebra) honestly made things that much more fun because they got to explore their own personal stories while searching for their life's purpose. On top of saving the world from Chaos and Darkness.

I like the "about to change" idea. I feel like this song tells the story of Celestia's experience the moment that Nightmare Moon came back (given the image -- the moon doesn't have the Mare in the Moon symbol). Celestia knows that Twilight has already made enough friends to use the Elements of Harmony together, and there's a high chance that they will be able to turn Luna back to good. However, it's up to them now, and there is nothing left for Celestia to do but anxiously wait, hope, and pray.

Im imagining Celestia days after she used the Elements on Luna, walking the streets and looking up into the night sky as she recalls her fondest memories of her dear sister. How they used to play in the castle gardens and how they always looked out for and loved each other. But now for the next thousand years they can't be together and all Celestia want is to undo what she has done, but is unable since the elements are no longer bound to her. Sorry, Im rambling. A truly amazing piece though.
