Actually, respectfully, since Eddie died, Dave has been mostly silent. He's only started saying things the last couple of months... And, if you look at it, he's really only started saying things after Hagar has brought up his name literally dozens of times. Hagar brings up Eddie (or Dave) all the time...basically whenever he wants press for whatever his latest project is. For crying out loud, Hagar has even twice claimed that Eddie came to him in a dream and they wrote a song together.

No...Dave was HALF the Van Halen story. That's why he wrote his half of the songs from their biggest era (57 million albums with Dave VS. 27 million albums with Sam). He is also frequently listed as one of the most dynamic frontmen in rock history. Sam is an overweight tequila peddler who writes really bad lyrics. Dave is retired. I have never been a fan of Van Halen... because of David Lee Roth super annoying singing which barely qualifies as singing. Sammy Hagar was the best thing that happened to the band and if it was not for EDVH himself I would pass on the DLR period. The best way to describe his vocal gimmick is cringeworthy. The guy was a stage monkey but as far as voice performance goes, you just cannot go past Sammy Hagar. The guy has a voice and he is also a pretty good guitarist. The winner is Sammy Hagar, hands down because music is not meant to be a circus. DLR made Van Halen a glam band.
