All these washed up ''solo'' artists from the 80's are terrible. Can't sing anymore and are just trying to keep their once popular name going. These type of particular ''artists'' need to give it up because they're terrible as it is and they're the ones who f**ked up their careers by being useless a**holes to begin with. Ace, Sebastian Bach, Vince Neil, Blackie Lawless, on and on. Embarrassing.

This guy did what Paul Prenter did to Queen and Freddie Mercury. It was an attempted power grab plain and simple to improve his position and eventual financial situation.. He saw Eddie as a vehicle. to manipulate and gain power through eventual trust. Mike wasn’t as influential and he wouldn’t dare try with Alex. Drive the wedge between Sammy and Eddie and gain the latter trust and you can manipulate things to your advantage down the line. And of course, make more money potentially. We have a nickname for people like that in Jersey City; scumbags.

I’d bet millions more people know about Motley Crue that don’t know who Papa Roach is. Sounds like dude was jealous and didn’t listen to someone that owned something he didn’t.

The whole story as I see it from what I know and can put together from interviews and inuendo and being a fan. Money was never and issue with VH. Money split four ways when Dave was in the band. Sammy wrote lyrics so Leffler had the songs under copy write and Eddie and Sammy as the wrote all the music and lyrics. How the money was split on tour I don't know. Daniels working with Rush where its and equal partnership and knowing the deal with the old VH doesn't like this new deal. Eddie feels it's not right that Alex is cut out or Alex doesn't like it and there you go. I think Sammy gave up all VH copyright in return for the Cabo Wabo logo and rights. Whatever really happened both bands were great. Sammy made VH a 100 times better. Dave broke Vai and Sheehan and both those guys went on to make more music and promote the arts in ways that I think they can be proud of. VH with Hagar had hit after hit after hit and I loved it all. People fight and fall out of love but these guys did it in public. I'll remember the music and the good times and memories they gave me. Life is too short.

The only backing track Van Halen used was the keyboard parts to Jump because the composition of the song makes it impossible for Ed to play that and the guitar parts at the same time. He used to just play everything on the keyboard live, but in their later years he used a backing track for the keyboard parts. Not really scandalous.

Tons of bands use backing tracks. For me, having keys, synth stuff or strings as backing tracks isn’t a huge deal, but having guitar and simple backing vocal tracks is kinda messed up. Saw disturbed earlier this year, couldn’t believe how much backing vocals and guitars were piped it. David was the only one with a mic. Still enjoyable, but very obvious.

It’s really not that big of a deal. As long as everyone in the band is playing their parts of the song live on stage. What gets played on the backing tracks would never be the main parts of the song. It’s usually just parts that were added while recording the song in the studio. Synth parts, keyboards parts, samples or whatever the case may be. And I will tell you this. If your band is good, and can play live. You will still sound like a decent good band without any tracks. However, you will not sound as good or “professional” when your band doesn’t use them, but every band you tour with does. Your stage sound will be thinner, or weaker and not as full. So most music fans would never be able to tell you why they believe the backtrack bands sound better. They will just think they are better musicians or better bands. But if someone is using tracks and miming the entire lead vocal. Then yeah that obviously sucks. But that is extremely rare. I’ve toured and I’ve toured with a ton of different bands. I’ve never suspected any of them of faking the vocals. Except for one time at a festival Brett Michaels solo band played. I don’t think he sang anything that night.

Does anyone understand how live music works? Are you surprised? It has been going on for decades... They use it for fill ins. Kiss uses vocal tracks to help Paul Stanley with his voice. Who cares! They put on a great show regardless! If any of you arm chair warriors are around after 40 years of touring, you will also use any technology that's going to help your live show and make your job a little easier! You think it's easy...? As for Kiss you're trying to tell me the rest of the band is just faking it? Come on, get real! You've probably never picked up an instrument in your life and have no clue how any of it works! Stop complaining and enjoy the music while it lasts or then again... Stay home and stop complaining! 🎸✌👊🏻

I had to go to creative writing classes to write anything. I did that for several years and I mean that shit was hard. I don't think a movie title out of a TV guide is enough to write a whole lot of material. 😊

Shine down definitely uses tracks just like most bands . Just admit it and move on! No body really cares anymore that’s why musicians are now “preformers” . You no longer hear that the band is going to “play” a song, now it’s they will preform the song.., big difference!

The first time I ever noticed backing tracks was at a Queen Concert. I understood but bummed me out. I feel and felt like they should have let the songs be less than the studio version. Totally would have understood and I think most people would. Don't record stuff you can't do live without more people or tracks. If I want a live show not a perfect show.

I feel like backing tracks can enhance a performance. I've seen way too many horrible live shows and can appreciate a band wanting to put on a quality stage show. I think the perfect example of that is Rush. Perfect use of tracks and live instrumentation.
