I think if there is one thing we can be sure of it is that there isn't a journalist, youtuber or Liverpool fan in the world that actually knows what Hughes and co are up to. That is a good thing, better to operate in the shadows and not rush into trigger happy transfers, otherwise you become like Utd and get bent over backwards for every price/salary. I reckon we'll sign two or three players out the blue over the next 3 weeks and I bet two of them will be names we haven't even been linked to. I trust Edwards and he trusts Hughes.

Basically, we're going to go for the CHEAP option again for the CB position. Looking for proven 100-150 top flight match experience, AND would accept Quansah-level money sounds ludicrous. So, we can write-off Guehi, Ignacio, Hincapie, and the likes. So, the "late window transfer blitz" would look like the Ozan Kabak/Ben Davies type of situation again, more than likely. 🤢🤮

The Kabak/Davies situation was purely down to panic and injury. Liverpool will no doubt have their main targets by mid to late august, just because they aren't in the news doesn't mean they aren't targets. For all you know Yoro might have been their 5th choice target. It is completely sensible not to assign 100-200k on wages for a 4th choice centre back, that type of reckless spending puts you in a Chelsea situation.

Don’t understand how we need these positions more than a forward when we’ve only 2 strikers, one of which can barely break 10 goals the other who’s constantly injured. We’ve 2 right wingers one of them in their 30’s with no sign of a new contract the other a child who’s spent the entirety of last season injured. We’ve 2 left wingers one who just started clicking at the end of last season and the other who can’t shoot pass or cross and cost us the biggest game of our season last year

David - agree 100% on Marc Guehi. He's too short and we need a dominating LCB. Ditto Brehmer is too short. Just tell Craig to change the record on Yoro - he was never a fit for our needs, and once his price skyrocketed it was just not a reasonable value deal for a non-priority area (we already have plenty of RCBs).

We cocked up royally by not getting Calafiori or Huijsen. They would have been good fits (unlike Yoro who Craig continually moans about). Calafiori could have come in as LCB and LB and I think he would have soon been preferred over Robbo as LB (much better technique under pressure, and a far better defender), and would have offered quality cover for Virg at LCB. Huijsen would have offered less experienced cover for Virg, but would have been happy in that role (Calafiori would never have signed up for that, nor would any other top CB), and has the high potential and physical stature to be a great squad option - and at only £12.5m he was an absolute steal.

based on what David was saying about the style of CB that LFC are/should look for, then as a squad member/back up/ left sided CB who is tall ( 6'7") strong in the air, defensivlely sound and who had a great world cup, and only valued at 8m euro, they wouldn't go to far wrong with Harry Souttar, who was signed by Brendan Rogers for Leicester after the world cup and who was just totally ignored by Maresca last season.

in hindsight it does make sense why we haven’t signed anyone yet, even some of our top players didn’t end the season great, salah for the last few months post injury was poor so there’s an argument if he continues like that we need a new RW, slot needs to see all the players in training atleast a few times and a couple pre season games to see how they do so they can target weaknesses. The only business i’d of expected to be done by now was a centre back cus there’s not too many boxes to tick but aslong as we get one by the end of the transfer window we’ll be fine cus no matter who we bring in i expect van dijk and konate to start, it’s just we need depth cus quansah can’t play every game konate and van dijk miss

We only beat Chelsea and Spurs from top six last season,if I remember correctly,we then drew 6 and lost 2 and only accrued 1 point from United home and away,this has to improve next season because head to heads are so important to mount a title challenge.This is a concern in itself,as we imploded end of last season,and was poor both offensively and defensively,most of key squad will have had very little rest this summer,so for me we need a new left back and sell Tsimikas,a centre half, holding midfielder/no.6 and back up/replacement for Salah,to truly compete,both domestically and in Europe. Then there is unknown quantity of the new manager to factor in also.Robbo is injured and is out of tour I am hearing, so left back is a concern also given his injuries last season.
