Essentially, we've spent £10m on a player who was one of the best in the world just 2 seasons ago. Because of the injury, fickle fans just assume that's his career over. They fail to understand the medical facilities available these days. Look at Virgil. He's managed to get his career back to almost where it was. There's plenty of examples of players doing similar in the modern game. As a 6th choice forward for now, he's a phenomenal choice to have! If he gets back to his best, ability wise, he's possibly even 2nd or 3rd choice for our forward line. Cracking signing by all accounts.

In my opinion it's one of the best deals of the summer. He clearly isn't as "injury prone" as people are suggesting. Yes he came back from a bad injury and probably isn't the same player as he was, but for 10 million you lose nothing if it doesn't go well. Jota and Konate have both been very frequent visitors to the medical room and yet we aren't going to give up and sell them.

For a supersub, for Salah, he is undoubtedly the best signing possible. Tell me any1 called top 5 Italian players that will sign on knowing he will be second fiddle to Salah in the current market. At 10m going to 12.5, this signing just makes sense for Liverpool. As for why he is cheap, it's probably cause he has 1 year left on his contract, and juve basically freezed him out. Not many clubs are capable of paying 90k a week either. And not many clubs in the world can attract a player of Chiesa's calibre anyway. I reckon, Chiesa was willing to sit on the bench for a season under Motta, but when Liverpool came in, he decided it was fine to go being a second choice forward at probably the biggest club in England. This is his best chance to prove himself, and Liverpool decided to take the gamble. Looking at him smiling at his interviews, I reckon he will be itching to prove himself and I truly hope he does.
