that one time Alejandro Jodorowsky and Kanye hung out at a hotel one time a few years back and *Jodorowsky* reflecting on that encounter was like "...it was surreal"
@Matthy63 Жыл бұрын
@@thotslayer9914 it's on KZbin, jodorowsky gave this panel interview in France somewhere and he tells this story, and the audience is laughing the entire time at what an absolute weirdo Kanye is and how genuinely baffled Jodorowsky seemed at the experience given he's, you know, Jodorowsky. IIRC it was something like, Kanye heard Jodorowsky was staying at the same hotel in Nice and wanted him to come over for "artistic counsel" or something like that, Jodorowsky has no idea who he is but is like sure w/e, Kanye just sort of vaguely hints that maybe he wants Jodo to script a music video for him or something, possibly, but it's more just Kanye and 10 hype guys of his sitting around staring at Jodo expecting some nugget of wisdom to beam down on them. Eventually Jodo sort of gives him a tarot reading and says something deep sounding that Kanye likes and just like, leaves.
@Agos2262 жыл бұрын
Important to know that since this video was made he has changed his opinion on the subject. He said the following in an interview for Twin Peaks The Return *Interviewer:* It's new for you to shoot things that will be seen by some on small screens, phones, tablets. *David Lynch:* If you watch Twin Peaks on your phone or tablet, above all you have to put on headphones, so as not to hear other exterior sounds and be truly immersed in what you are watching. But looking at a tablet or computer from the right distance, close enough, the screen is almost the same size, proportionally, as if you're sitting at the back of a movie theatre. So if you're in a quiet, dark room, it can be a good experience. Considering this video was made in 2008, it was a fair thing to say at the time, mobile displays have come a long way since then

Yes, I do enjoy transformers and Marvel, that's why I'm watching a David Lynch video, fucktard. Though I can't say I'd expect anything better from a Christopher Nolan fan. They all think they're smarter than they actually are (Just like his convoluted, exposition dumps that he calls films)
@akaranzo6 жыл бұрын
Uncle Fester Nah it took me about 5 seconds, which I would assume is equal to the length of your attention span. Christopher Nolan is undeniably a great filmmaker, if you'd like to pretend that his films are in fact not smart enough for you then feel free but you're lying to yourself. I'm sure there's lots of even ''higher brow'' works of art out there but Nolan's films walk a fine line of telling a smart story that a mainstream audience can still mostly understand, and that in itself is quite brilliant.

David Lynch has stated before that he hasn't made more TV stuff PRECISELY BECAUSE he says the TV is much inferior to watching shit in theaters or screening rooms. He really thinks that the darkness, silence and focus that a good theater/screening room gives you is unparalleled and is precisely what you need to enjoy not only his products but movies and TV shows as a whole. I think he is mostly right BTW.

HAHAHAHAHA I love David so much. I made the mistake of watching Antichrist on my phone the first time. I actually retained a decent amount of it. I didn't notice a whole lot more the second time. I also watched It (2017) on my phone for the first time, but i was homeless and just trying to watch a damn movie and forget about the world so you gotta cut me some slack on that one haha

This clips is hilarious and I come back to it every year or so for one reason or another. I lose it every time he finally cracks and drops the f bomb. Something to keep in mind is this interview was recorded in 2007 or 2008. The only phone on the market you might even want to watch a movie on was the 1st gen iPhone and that thing had a 3.5 inch screen and resolution of 320 x 480. I'm sure he still hates it but at least you got full HD or higher on the go now.

The phone is superior definition to the dvd I watched it in, at least Criterion would put it out in hi-res digitally so I can only assume the dvd I rented could've looked better hence enhancing my enertainment value. There is something relaxing about watching a film in the best possible way, whether if it's in a theater or a big TV.

One of the best youtube videos I've encountered here on the internet - dispite its short running time, it couldn't be anymore amusing or true (and depressing). The first time I saw this I nearly killed myself with laughter. Although his films are amongst the most odd, eccentric, uncomforting and deeply disturbing - they possess an aesthetic and artistic value that no other filmmaker could deliver other than the man himself: David Lynch - of which whom I have alot of respect for.

The more I play this, the funnier it gets. And yes, you are robbed of the experience of watching a film that was built for a 100ft screen when you watch it on a three-inch phone. Watching a film like 2001: A Space Odyssey on a phone is like listening to Handel's "The Messiah" played on a kazoo.
