Contrary to what david said, I respectfully disagree that he can't quite change things early in the first half just yet. My opinion is that he deliberately sets the side out to just be compact and analytical in the first half. In boxing terms, feeling out your opponents ability, working out their strengths and weaknesses, figuring out your distance, etc, before fully committing to punches. He can then go in at half time and work it out. Very much deliberate first half in my opinion.

Exactly my thoughts. Very much enjoying the tactical side. First half are all the same and second half depends on the opposition first half approach.

Yes the boxing analogy is a good one. I also do think that the containment in the first half gives Slot to assess the opponents tactics and shape and sometimes we really go for the blitz in the second half.

Great discussion except that part 42:38 about injury. FSG cheapskate policy has always been getting potential players with bad injury record to fill the squad position. The Chiesa purchase is the classic example.I bought the third kit with his name on the back because I believe in his passion and ability and now the club is reporting thru media that he wants a loan or even sale out. It pisses me off as there is no way FSG should be excused from this major disaster.

Really great convo between two top notch guys. I'm not liking the bit about how Slot devalues Endo, regardless of how much esteem we laud on Slot. Endo is a stopper and a play breaker. Endo's character, grit, and hard work feels like "Liverpool" to me and he has the experience and quality to play in the PL.

Depends who puts up the money. He will go to whoever provides him the option as he wont be cheap.

@liverpooljapan Transfer fee has nothing to do with him. If he prefers LFC then his club will have to negotiate with LFC. It's the salary that could be an issue. But if LFC add bonuses for hitting certain goal scoring and assist targets, then that should be enough. I am sure Marmoush understands that LFC can't break the wage structure just for him. I have a feeling one of our forwards will leave next season.

Marmoush can only negotiate with any clubs that meet the transfer valuation his club require. He has almost 0 power and can only state his preference as a plea. It will be up to Liverpool and any other club if they wish to pay the kind of money that his club want in order to start a negotiation and in that regard, he will move to whichever club willing to do that.

I don’t agree with Mr. Lynch analysis of Endo. When we see Endo train he looks happy, if he wouldn’t be part of Slots plan or agenda I seriously doubt Endo would be happy and giving his best at the training sessions. ….and look at last season at the same time last year. Endo was far from the first 11 and when Macca got injuried in the match against Sheffield United in december he took his place and never lost it for the remaining season. Plus Macca came to play better with Endo behind him. This season Macca has not been the same. If Slot could play Endo and Ryan in the double pivot and Macca in front I think Macca would shine again.

Agreed, Endo is enjoying every moment and he is the type that will thrive under the challenge to show what he is about. Slot is using him well and he is part of the title pushing team! Endo gives us great options in the base and Macca does get unleashed when Endo plays!
