This is David Lynch's hardest movie to watch but it's also the one that stays with you the longest.

This is the only Lynch film I've never seen -- it's not a movie that's been widely available, although that appears to be changing as a result of this showcase and the impending Criterion release. Many of the dates sold out fairly quick, but I managed to get tickets to go next week :-)

a enigmatic travel to a unknown place of the reality, beyond imagination, comes a ghostly story, full of mystery, intrigue, and very weird moments, from the fascinating creator of ''Rabbits'' David Lynch, this a bizarre jewel to enjoy, a jump to a new universe of oddities.

Looks ggeat! I love Lynch's movies but bypassed this one purely due to the digital look. I just couldn't get engrossed or even "accept" it. My brain kept bringing me back to reality and questioning the "look". That said - this now looks watchable (for me). So I'm glad that I didn't watch it back in 2006 - as I can experience it now firsthand - as Lynch actually intended.

I don't want to knock Lynch as he was one of my great inspirations as note-to-color music theorist gone film-maker. But I have been avoiding this series because I just don't want to invest the time in a film that seems so ... abstract. Or at least that's my impression. I'm not saying that i'm against this style, i'm just saying that i'm afraid to letting this work become a distraction from some Tarkovsky films ive been wanting to see. - _The Acoustic Rabbi Hole_

The original digital video files have been uprezzed using Topaz Labs’ 4K AI up scaling and the whole thing remastered for 4K. It’s still going to look like home video because that’s what it is-that’s what it’s supposed to look like- but the texture and detail around the edges looks much better on a modern display than it otherwise would. I think it looks effectively creepy.
