Billy I really appreciate what you're doing.My thoughts were always wandering about what happened to David Mabaso,Desmond Malotana, and Fats Mlangeni. I kneww Brenda,Sammy and Dumisani passed on. Now i know it's only Dave who is still around.I know that Brenda, Sammy and Dumisanihe continued with his music ,forming Pride band after he left The Big Dudes. Desmond went on to form Pisces band,Fats were involved with Winnie of Pretty Girl fame. Till today, when listening to their music, I can sense that he and Brenda have that connection that she knew when to pause and when to continue singing by the way he was playing his bass.Dave you remain my number one bass guitarist...all the way from Namibia 🇳🇦

Thanks for putting our artists on this channel Billy. Our stories are never told, nor documented. Videos are never made and most of these magicians are passing on like flies, and they die lonely with no acknowledgment. No books are written, some of these great songs are never found in books so as to preserve the heritage and help up and coming youngsters. We all have to scramble for music information as if these guys don't even, or didn't even live among us. Keep doing a good job, much appreciated.

At 16:40 David talks about Louis Johnson, now thats another self taught banging American bass player who founded a group called "Brothers Johnson" with his younger brother. He worked with Michael Jackson on all those big hits from Off the wall all the way to Thriller and beyond. He plays that famous Billie Jean bassline. He was one of Quincy Jones' favorites.
