David Oluwale's Leeds 2023 SD 480p

A song and some photos conjuring up our tour of Leeds in the footsteps of #DAVIDOLUWALE on 10the September 2023. @RememberOluwale reprised the walk/talk/sing conducted by #JoeWilliams of #HeritageCorner and the singer and musicologist #JuwonOgungbe at our week of events commemorating 50 years since DAVID OLUWALE was drowned in the River Aire in the centre of Leeds, UK in 1969. It was part of our programme introducing the city to the installation of the ten metre high sculpture of a hibiscus flower (titled #HibiscusRising) by #YinkaShonibareCBE,RA (in November 2023).
