A Mitch rehabilitation program is required in any case: 1) Get Mitch to focus on playing his heart out for the Leafs & not about being treated as a God in Toronto 2) Convince Mitch to stay with his man while back checking all the way back to the Leafs net 3) Mentor Mitch (maybe by lacrosse & boxing training) how he can adapt to playoff officiating 4) Restructure the Leaf Core 4 for everyone’s sake 5) Lobby to have Shanny (now a redundant) graciously moved out 😀

Setting that aside - it is true Mitch spoke about being treated like a God in Toronto - but he never spoke about signing a new contract to play his heart & soul for Leaf Fans. That is sad. Do you think Leafs should just stop back checking at the Leafs Blue Line? If yes - why watch your man score? Do you not think Mitch could be better trained for playoffs? He thrives in the regular season - but is a playoff disappointment. 😀

He is an $11 Million playoff disappoint with $8.5 Million (say Blake Wheeler 90 point season) skills. But Wheeler fights & has been on a trip to the Conference Finals. Marner will - but like Kessel & Kadri - maybe but not with the Leafs. The Leafs need to progress up the ladder of playoff success to stop pretending they can win now. 😀

Marner to Vancouver, Petterson to Toronto, same draft position, age, points, two way play, money, Marne can feed Miller and Boeser on pp, Petterson can center Willie and has a shot on the pp. only one other trade, RFAs Robertson and Liljegren to move up in the draft from 23rd to at least 15-19th. still maybe 20 million in cap space for UFAs

Remember when Kadri was forced out of Moronto by the so called sports media, and he went on to win a Cup? They’re doing it again to a +110 plus minus player while never talking about their #1 D Man who’s a “Career” -9. Marner’s also the #1 point getter in the playoffs for the Leafs along with being on the #1 PP and #1 PK. Marner’s never been a power forward. He’s always been a setup guy who enabled Tavares to get his career high in goals and all of Mathews Goal Scoring titles. Mathews Career high 368 goals, Marner’s assisted on over 330 of them. So what happens when Marner’s forced out of Moronto? Mathews can kiss his trophies goodby, and those wanting Marner gone won’t blame Media but Leafs inept Management while claiming Marner should have stayed.

At one point Marner when he signed his first big contract he was more Valuable then Willy at his 6.9 mill contract. Willy and Mathiews did the years in a way it ends before Marner was up, Marner got greedy and took it all and the years. Now hes the odd man out with Willys and Mathiews new contract locked in and there is nothing left for Marner. Good. Trade him. His Karma using Babs being mean to him to get paid big. Pagnotta is wrong. After July 1st Tavares is owed 910K for the '24-'25 season. The cap hit is still 11mil but the team that gets him only has to pay 910K in 'salary. All teams can afford that that money, as long as they have cap room to take on the cap hit, they can afford Tavares.

I myself have put this trade forward, previously. Good value Wright ELC 2 more years. First round draft pick ( 8th OA ) plus a prospect. Seattle is prime for Marner. Washington State has no tax - signs 8 yr extension. Face of franchise

@@pattaccone5347 That not how it works. Yes you are right about the 910K because the Leafs pay everything in bonus or lump sum payments. But the cap hit not the actual payment is what is important. Its the total of the entire contract divided by the years, that gives you the cap hit per year, hence Tavares at 11 mil. So yes he's cheap in terms of the monthly payout another team has be make but they also have to fit that last year of the contract under their cap.
