I just searched this on a whim and here it is.😍 My first born came earth bound to this music. We birthed at home in the middle of a New Zealand winters night, fire going, candle light and these magical sounds 🥰 it was a blessed birth 🙏

I am not a religious person in the typical sense. Your birthing sounds courageous, in tune with all life, maybe further, and most beautiful.

Peter Farrell and I produced and marketed this album following Sounds of Mothership, in Auckland under the Sun Energy label. David let us use all the earnings to get his music out there and awaken people. In 1986 I ended up meeting with Igor Charkovsky in Moscow, where he told me of his underwater birthing process with mothers to be - in the Black Sea, with dolphins acting as the midwives.

@@GeeBee135 Greetings Gary, thank you for taking the time to reply. Yes, both Peter and I, at heart want on many levels a planet of peace, where people can realise that we are all an extension of a huge global family - now 8 billion souls. I am trusting that some profound being/s will introduce 'sound' that has such profound 'properties' that it will awaken us to who we really/truly are. For a myriad of reasons we have become so disconnected as a humanity, from each other, all biota, and essentially all life within the biosphere - and creation. Always wondering what will be the cosmic trigger that will ignite us to en-mass - see ourselves as 'conscious' spiritual 'free' beings having an earth experience. Arohanui.

Somehow we never crossed paths. Anyone who felt so deeply as I about "Voyage..." is someone I wished I'd known.

As far as I know, "Voyage of the Mothership" has never been released on CD. The first two tracks, "Tibetan Plateau" and "Gangotri", were released on the Tibetan Plateau / Sounds of the Mothership CD, but unfortunately that release omitted two tracks from the original albums - "Voyage of the Mothership" from Tibetan Plateau and "Awakening" from Sounds of the Mothership. But you say you were able to buy "Voyage of the Mothership" on CD. Where did you get it?

I'm surprised I've never heard of David Parsons before. Some of the best ambient music I've ever heard. And to find out this was around in the early 80's - Wow!

I'm finding that an insane amount of pioneering ambient work is from this time period

I had this on cassette also, but I lost it many years ago. Great to hear it again after all this time. I have saved this post to my music collection. 🇦🇺🎶😌

One of my very first ambient albums I purchased in the mid-80's, when the ambient-space music scene was just beginning. I still have this very cassette. Voyage Of the Mothership is an ambient classic, and could be a musical score in its own right for a major motion picture.
