back at it again with great another podcast, and shout out to my favorite Ed 🤣🤣 You don't know how much this means to me David. I'm currently in Rhode Island, 2/3 of my solo roadtrip from VA to Maine. The drive would have been unbearable without your podcast, and James Rodolfo's compilation of your funny moments on JKNews. 😂❤ On the side note, here is a fun fact abt Peacemaker: the ending scene was actually filmed at Marvel studio. According to Gunn, Marvel owed DC, because at some point, DC helped Gunn did some screentest for Guardians 3. So in a way, Gunn is a true peacemaker, he brings the two rivals together and make them help each other out. I find it quite lovely 😊

I would've loved to see the Kim Jung Illah show. Sounds hilarious. But the situation with Ukraine and Iran is different. Iran, at least a portion of our country chose to attack for revenge, whether that's the correct target or not. With Ukraine, they're not our enemies and haven't done anything to provoke an attack, and are being attacked by an enemy country.

As someone from East Europe and an ex-East Block country, here are the things I know. During the Soviet Union all countries were serving Russia, but when I saw Russia, I mean Moscow, St. Petersburg and basically West Russia, richer parts of Russia where the Communist party was living. During that period Ukrainians were starving to death as they had to provide most/all of their meat and wheat to Moscow. My mother told me, that when she visited Ukraine a friend of hers from the city was buying and sending meat to her parents from the countryside. Then the Union collapsed and Ukrainians started harass Russians living in Ukraine. It was close to a genocide against them. All of this continued to this day, which led to what happened a few years ago and the first attacks. On top of this aggression against Russians living in Ukraine, NATO is getting bigger and stronger, against their own contract and USA has been adding more and more military bases around Russia and has BILLIONS invested in military bases and equipment in Ukraine. Now, imo, Putin should have waited for a move and then attack and show power. Not the way he did now, without a true provocation, without a true attack. Russia is the strongest military power, again in my opinion, no facts from my side. What Putin could have done is just take the lands where the harassed Russians live, build a new border and call it a day. Even that he does not want new borders, just doesnt want NATO and USA in his back yard, especially as I said, that NATO was supposed to NOT accept new countries and USA should just fck off (I am speaking for the government and military, Ive lived in USA, nothing against regular folks).
@johannajj20252 жыл бұрын
I am not an expert with everything that happened, but I still want to add a little bit: for some parts it is true that the russian minority faced discrimination and Aggression but i think mostly from extrem nationalist and not the goverment itself. On the other hand the ex president ed Was talking about even ordered extra Support for the Regions, where the Fights started, because he was born there. So the Rest of Ukraine understandable didnt agree. From what i know were all the Nato bases agreed on and Also didnt Show any Potential threat. Some time ago the Ideal was that russia also joins Nato.. for many years now putin erased in his own country people who stated opinions against him and actually killed/ captured people for this. So I cant imagine that he is even a little bit thinking about actually helping the russian minority. He wants Power back

Just a note - Article 10 of the NATO Founding Charter states they have an open door policy to nations who wish to join. NATO has always allowed nations to request membership, and has done so since its conception post WW2.

I know the war seems unjustified and unreasonable to most but in term of Putin strategic perspective the rising spread of NATO to the east European countries is a concerning threat to Russia's perspective to their national security. The Russians wanted to guarantee that the Ukrainians to be Pro-Russian so they won't be joining NATO. This technically tips the balance of power of international relations between the two super power of the U.S. and Russia. The conflict was a long time coming with the increase tensions between the two countries after the fall of the U.S.S.R. Its to bad that Ukraine didn't join NATO fast enough to have the support from the other nations. As long as China remains neutral there shouldn't be WW3.

According to Russian news sources from years ago (between 2014 and now) and my family, Ukraine has been going through a civil war between Ukrainian nationalists and Ukranians who identify as Russian/ want to be independent from Ukraine. From Putin’s standpoint, he’s going in to protect the Russians living in Ukraine from the nationalists (who do, in fact, harass and attack the Ukrainians who identify closer to Russia)
@stevep42362 жыл бұрын
@@Kaorunone i've heard this has been happening also, thank you for verifying. The Western media will not tell you this because they have too much to lose in that region. Just like the wars in the middle east....they only air stories they want you to see

With any political scenario you should look at it in the perspective of both sides. You didn't mention NATO breaking its promise to Russia for reuniting Germany. Nato members promised not to expand but they did and creeping into Russian borders. Imagine Canada or Mexico or Cuba allowing with Russia and allows them to build military bases in their country. Nato poked the sleeping bear and Putin is essentially doing what he feels is best for the security of his nation. Don't get me wrong still doesn't justify him invading a country unprovoked. Then again why were the Americans in Iraq?

As an ex Muslim it still brings me anger that the western and even the Muslim world hardly put this much effort for Muslim children dying from American direct and in direct involvement. End of the day what matters is were human right but seems like what matter is our own selfish desire of war not happening on our western door step. May we find peace even if its false peace cuz were fake people like most people in this world.

The issue right now is that there are American citizens in Ukraine that fled to Poland when Russia invaded Ukraine (a streamer goes by name Zepla is an example that I've been watching for long time). But these people can't stay in Poland long term, as Russia might even start pushing and invade Poland too. So the issue is that if American civilians get involved or killed, U.S. might have to step in through military force as well. And if U.S. gets involved, so will the rest of Europe.
