Had to pause at 58:53 It is SO refreshing hearing a GOOD Guard player talk about how bad Dorn is. Im sorry if yall like the tank, I get it, aesthetically not for everyone in my opinion, but it "invites bad players to play wrong" IS CRAZY. Ive been preaching Double Dorn just aint it, it doesnt have enough dmg, its ability is just defence related. My mind has been opened from discovering this channel. The fact that theres top Guard Players incudling: A super heavy player, an all melee player, and an all Russ Specialist is INSANE. Theres no wonder the Guard community is considered bad. But im p sure the meta monday is increasing, havent kept up on it. I wish your channel was as big as Mordian Glory, thats the one I learned from and irs very closed minded, im sorry mate. So nice hearing tons of top Guard players give insight into their playstyles. If pros are telling you to avoid Dorn... 😅

Haha I really enjoy having strong players disagree, as Kyle McCord said in one of the other interviews, different top players can vehemently disagree on the strength of something and they can both be right Guard has so many good datasheets we get to have these conversations

Loving the list design here. This was a very well thought out teams list that with minimal tweaks would also be a great singles list as well. Well done David and thanks Joushi for getting him on.

How exactly would you rebuild it for Singles?

@@DeidaraTriops as mentioned in the video, for singles you don't care about margin of victory you care about consistent wins vs all comers. He mentioned the 20 krieg squad's primary role is to ensure that enemies can't discard the kill units of 20 models objective, a "win more". As this is an aggressive high damage output list I would think replacing the Kriegers either with more scoring units or more killing units would be preferred. Based on the video it seems David would most likely add rough riders to replace them as they both hit hard and can go MSU and he liked their performance and said he wanted more of them.

Pretty sure he also took it to an RTT with this exact list and won there too!

I took like 95% this list to an RTT. I downgraded the Kriegs to Catas and replaced the 5-man scions and 5 horses with a Callidus and a Rapier. I'm not sure I liked the changes that much, but the list still performed scoring 2 90's and an 86 while keeping my opponent's scoring below 40 each game.

Great interview and info! I have a question about the rapid ingress and overwatch though. You do that after they move; isn’t dropping a scion blob next to a unit you think is going to charge..suicide? Assuming they can shoot of course. Because they will get to shoot before they think about charging

I have some confusion on when scions or LRBTs get overwatch rerolls, which of these overwatch scenarios do they get rerolls? 1) Enemy outside objective moves onto an objective 2) Enemy starts on objective and moves off 3) Enemy outside objective charging your unit on objective 4) Enemy starting on objective charges unit outside objective.

@gdray82 good question! Remember you can choose to overwatch at the beginning or end of a move (if it's a valid shooting target). Bear in mind this can affect whether or not the targets get cover, and you'll always get re-roll 1s minimum 1. You get re-rolls if you OW at the end of the move 2. You get re-rolls if you OW at the start of the move 3. You would not get full re-rolls ever because you cannot OW a target once they have completed the charge 4. You would get re-rolls if you OW at the beginning of the charge
