To explain the ice baths, when a Netrunner does a deep dive on the Net their mind is fully involved with the process. Both your body and brain give off heat since it’s basically being used as a CPA. The ice bath cools their body down allowing them to dive longer. Cheaper than a Netrunner chair that acts as its own heat sink. Being nude as a Netrunner is normal in Night City. 😂

think netrunners as PCs. you need a cooler and fans to prevent overheating.

The cab service, like everything else in Night City, caters to your funds. You can get a lift from A to B, or you can get a bulletproof, AI-gun equipped, 1000hp bodyguard that automatically deletes your purchase records upon destination. Poetic really

Yeah, Night City isn't a place where people live long enough to have wrinkles. Or at least those that want to be remembered don't. Going out in a blaze of glory and getting a drink in "Afterlife" named after you is the highest honor anyone can hope for.

26:41 People enjoying watching others do something rather than doing that thing themselves is not a new phenomenon. People have watched sports, fights, games, ect, for centuries. The difference today is the variety of activities and the availability of that media. There always has been and always will be people who prefer vicarious experience to first hand. I'm sure the same concerns were raised around the invention of public radio, TV, and I know they happened around video games. Kids grow up, society adapts, and most people eventually develop a healthy, balanced relationship with new media technology.
@frenchynoob2 ай бұрын
Yeah, it's a dumb argument tbh
@CandleLight1292 ай бұрын
@@frenchynoob I understand where the concern comes from, and media addiction is a very real problem. I just think most people look at how each new generation spends their time with some measure of fear because it's different from how their generation grew up. This leads them to blame the activity/technology and perpetuate the cycle of "new thing bad" rather than "I need to learn enough about new thing to teach my kids to be responsible with it."

So, side note, one of the things I hate about the anime vs the game (tabletop) is that there are levels of dead. A platinum member without brain damage can be revived up to 30 minutes later or something crazy like that. Jimmy would have survived that, but they still wrote him off as killed
