How long should these start battery last. I have 2004 e320. I have changed it several times. Maybe it’s not getting charged by alternator? Sometimes the car will not start. No warning light. If turn the key I hear engine click, no start, then I wiggle steering wheel and shifter for a minute and that seems to make it start. Could be a neutral safety switch? Need help thanks

What does the bigger style aux battery actually do? Mine is a stop/start 2011 S350 Bluetec diesel. It has the bigger aux battery behind the back seat backrest and no small aux battery.

It’s a backup in case your main battery run out and your alternator not working, not to start the car just to give you power so you can shift to N to tow the car to the shop

DAVE, excellent info really enjoy ur video one question 2007 e280 4matic is the auxiliary battery in the same location the car has 500 ml amp drain even i put a new one and did amp draw check up by pulling fuses in all three fuse location without any fix to that draw when the car is off and all module a sleep any help and suggestion will be appreciated . cheeeeeeeers

If I remember right your aux battery is in the back of the car on passenger side, it’s a motorcycle size battery.

That’s a 221 chassis but many of them have a second battery

So how to get the battery back in the bracket? That was the impossible part. The rest was easy. Now I have a battery loose under the dash because it cannot be mounted back to the bracket.

We do it every day, you need a little practice and if you are not somewhat mechanically inclined, ask for help or take it to a repair shop

Do you have to disconnect the main battery before you disconnect the auxiliary battery

Great video. Can you tell me where the auxiliary battery is located in the 09 ML350? I checked under the passenger sit where the main battery is located and there's something that appears to be a battery, but i don't see a negative or positive terminal or wires. I've also check the rear passenger in side panel and it's not there.

I’m just going to ground the negative wire to the chassis and solder a wire to the positive wire and connect to the main battery and be done with this dumb shit.
