Some MB have a little battery next to the big battery that assists in case the big battery is dead. It helps you unlock the driver door with the metal key inside the FOB. You turn and wiggle the key left or right…not sure what side exactly….do this 2 dozen times or so and you will slowly see the door button come up….this is only if you have a dead battery and can’t get into your locked car and hopefully you have enough power in that little battery. When replacing the ig battery find out if you have that 2nd little battery and test it to make sure it is within specs. Replace it if needed. Dead battery issue may also be an alternator issue. It can also be a bad fuel pump if it cranks and does not start. You can also check the crank sensors. You can also check the cam sensors. Some have 4 cams.

Great Video.....I replaced a front SAM Module (Myself) in 08 E350 that had a "Thermal Issue".....eg Water Intrusion and Massive Short in SAM module.........via the damaged windshield cowl....I matched up the exact # from the Donor SAM Module and re wired some of the damaged, burned wires from Previous owner.....this is NOT a DIY Repair......some shops will not even mess with electrical wiring, etc.....Good Vid on Non Start Diag......all good tips.....Love the Old School Battery Load tester....some of the Old stuff still works......Mercedes is Known for water intrusion via washer nozzles, etc., clogged winshield drains, etc.....check these as well - all are known trouble areas for No Comm, No start conditions as well..................

Hi I got a c250 2015 it had ISM I got code p172A29. Cat sometime does not select reverse or neutral or park stays in drive no matter how many time you try it won’t shift unless you switch car on and off is this the problem with ISM. Also have code U101087

1997 s420 v-8 . I changed spark plugs and coils, Then drove about one mile to check . It was now much better ,almost like normal car should be. But I checked for water in fuel by disconnecting the fuel pipe at the exit return pipe next to pressure regulator.taking some fuel and then reconnecting the pipe. There is no water in the fuel. It has spark.it has 45 ps fuel i pressure and holds pressure. 55 psi when cranking. Cyl 1 has 30 psi and cyl 3 has 50 psi and cyl 4 has 120 psi. BUT that's how it has been and it ran and drove for past 3 months. So why crank and no start?

Yo I have a 2000 Mercedes s500 with 80,000 mile I got home one nite in the the car would go in park so I put it neutral still no start.. the next day I took the gear shifter out in the bushing to gear shift rod had fallen out so I replaced them now the car still want crank in I can’t get it to go in neutral .. what can I check next??

I need your help... have a 2008 S550... drove and went to store and came back out to Service Do not shift... and a bunch of warning lights, then the car shut down itself, plus with the key out the dash lights were still on and radiator fan running, then at some point it all cut off. Have a rear engine seal leak, so i was thinking maybe the oil leak may have been the issue. I did shift out of gear when I crank back up but it shut right down and wouldn't crank again, until I had ac tech with diagnostic machine to clear codes. Ran for awhile but after turning off did the same thing, with the lights again and shift was bit highlighted again, until disconnecting battery ac be resting again. This had to be other issue other than the ISM right?? What could be the problem??? Help!!@

Hi guys. I need your urgent help. I have a C180 CGI Blue Efficiency Avengard. 2010 Model. It's only just over 1000klm. My car won't start after trying numerous times. All my lights come on (On my dashboard) when I insert the key & turn it on. My car is totally dead. I'm not even able to turn the steering wheel back & forth like it's been mentioned in this video clip.. I don't know what else to do. I unfortunately don't have the money to send my car to the Dealership as I'm retired / without a job. So maybe a bit of ideas from you, I have a 2008 e350 that ended with timing concerns, sourced a replacement engine for it, but upon installation, car cranks but no start. First crank of the day it pops over for a split second then just cranks with no attempt. If you leave it sit for 5 or 6 hours and try again you get the same single attempt to fire but that's it. Have fuel, have at least rudimentary spark, replaced camshaft and crank sensors already to no avail, very odd things happening though, Everytime I plug a scanner in to get codes or data stream, there's always new or different dilemas. Keep in mind I am a master tech of over 20 years and own a fleet of picky cars, several sprinters, e class, s class, jaguars, corvettes, etc so I'm relatively familiar with European vehicles being finicky, but this one makes me want to burn it for a campfire. Lol. Any thoughts
