Cromwell presided over an effort to destroy our past and our culture. Whitewashing church; interiors, smadhing and burning medieval art treasures. A shameful period of our history. He also got us involved in the transatlantic slave trade with the Dutch puritans.

I am a Nigerian and I live in Nigeria. But I consider myself as an Anglophile. I know so much about British history and I can mention all the sovereigns of England and later Britain from when Henry VII came to the throne in 1485 to Queen Elizabeth II and now King Charles III. I know in 1688 two monarchs King William III and Queen Mary II were crowned as co- monarchs; The narrator of the documentary mentioned Queen Mary II as wearing the consort crown. Pls I need clarification on that.

You should honour your ancestors who fought the British by learning your own history and not your colonizers history. Britain is still profiting from tons of stolen Nigerian artifacts.

Why present such nonsense about our past? This was not Glorious. It was a Dutch coup. The Dutch King came here with 560 ships and 40,000 troops. He didn't dare sail up the Thames. He landed in South Devon and spent seven weeks advancing on London. At the Coronation of William the Capital was occupied and surrounded by 34,000 Dutch troops. Three times the English forces. By 1692 William saddled us with a vast debt and 125 years of war against the French. A Dutch coup.
