@@mattsmith2516 Yeah no that's not at all what that sequence of events was. Stern said no to the question, then immediately followed up with "shame on you for even asking it", which was a stupid thing to say, considering how many people were expressing that opinion at the time. (I remember what those Kelly Dwyer and Woj's article comments were like). Rome simply pointed that out in defense of being shamed (not in any way a prod) and then Stern did a dumb dodge by trying to pretend the question is in any way apt to the "have you stopped beating your wife" analogy. It's not at all analogous to that logical fallacy and, in fact, proved to me how desperate Stern was to villify anyone who would bring it up. That league has been corrupt for a long time. @vigusdna37604 жыл бұрын
TheWhiteWhale YOU ARE WRONG IMO lol, Jim’s question does make an accusation & an Assumption as well as putting out the vibe of it being Fixed, So Sterns response was equal to it... it was equal because Rome was put in an equal situation, both questions suggested that each one is practicing an immoral action, & so just as easily as stern could have said “no, this lotto wasn’t fixed, and it should be known that we have never fixed the draft lotto”.. which is the same answer Rome could have gave, as Rome could have answered “I have never beat my wife or anyother woman for that matter” .... you are getting hung up on yeses or noes....when the original question is just as damaging as Sterns rebuttal & Rome’s was actually worse since he said a lot of people think its fixed, which he is insinuating a large number of people agree that its fixed, Stern should have followed his question to Rome with additional firepower so it would even things out... so after Rome said that’s not fair (to Sterns Question) Stern should have followed it up with “ Well a lot of people think you are still beating your wife so are you? & Cuz people think that, I feel it’s a fair question to ask you” Don’t get hung up on if u feel its fixed or not, I’m only talking about Stern playing fair with his rebuttal, & remember things are rarely Yes or No

@speakingtruths42154 жыл бұрын
petros King Would you get defensive if your wife/girlfriend accused you of butt fucking the neighbor’s dachsund? It would be pretty obvious that you did it by your defensive reaction. That’s how dumb your logic is.... He’s accused of being a cheater with absolutely no evidence. He’s a lawyer. There really is no hard evidence to prove the lottery was or is a scam. It’s just speculation by idiots, and talking heads like Jim Rome only give idiots credibility by pushing that theory with no real evidence. If the lottery were actually rigged, the Knicks would have gotten the number one pick. No one gives a shit about Zion in the Big Sleazy.

I dont like Rome at all, but I also don't think Stern was in the right either for the classless response. Its frustrating to recieve a question you dont like, but if you fire back rudely and personally, people like Rome win.

They are both pieces of shit, but Rome is in the wrong here acting like a hypocrite since he's made a living off instigating and trying to be edgy instead of being an actual "journalist"

Does anybody actually find Rome to be an insightful and substantial reporter? RIP David Stern
Yes, he actually could be. I never went out of my way to listen to him. But I listened to him often around the time this was on. He was an idiot with the "clones" but when he got someone on to do a serious interview, he was good. But his reputation was tarnished and he has always been marginalized because of it.
