Abu Sufyan reported the Prophet as saying, “The eyes are the leather strap of the anus, and when the eye sleeps the leather strap is loosened.” Darimi transmitted it. وَعَن مُعَاوِيَة بن أبي سُفْيَان أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: قَالَ: «إِنَّمَا الْعَيْنَانِ وِكَاءُ السَّهِ فَإِذَا نَامَتِ الْعَيْنُ اسْتطْلقَ الوكاء» . رَوَاهُ الدِّرَامِي حسن لغيره (الألباني) حكم : Reference : Mishkat al-Masabih 315 In-book reference : Book 3, Hadith 32

So the leather strap is the sphincter in the anus that is kept tight by consciousness and sleep relaxes the sphincter to an uncontrolled laxity allowing gas to pass unknowingly? If that is accurate, untrue but an accurate understanding, would ablutions just be called a shower or bath after waking up? I apologize for asking but no one else has ever been able to specifically explain these 'mysterious' verses ordering a specific detailed action before. Contemporary ablutions vs ancient ablutions etc. Again, details are nonexistent & only an intimate partner or parent teaching a child how to ceremonially wash would know these secret rituals. Americans believe Muslims are "EXTRA CLEAN" due to 'constant washing' to pray 5x day. My brother told me when he was in ME this was not true. But that was the '70's so who knows? Informative clip!!
