David Bombal is legit an IT legend out here for real. 2 1/2 years ago I was freaking out about not being able to find a job in sales after a decade long career. After watching a few of his tutorials and interviews, I decided to pursue a career in something I am actually interested in...rather than selling people stuff they don't need. And today, thanks to this man ( and Network Chuck), I am a Service Desk Engineer close to getting my CCNA and will eventually start studying for a CEH cert. Thanks Dave and keep it up. I have no doubt you'll inspire someone else out of a tough spot 👊🏾

@@xdraygul5169 Do you walk into elementary schools and tell the teachers they're dumb for teaching fundamentals to those just starting out? What a joke.
@soll86
@soll86 Жыл бұрын
@@xdraygul5169 It's probably the message and the advice David & Network Chuck that made the impact. for him. It's all about the message and the impact that you send upon others that matters. Neither David or Network Chuck or others teach you to the letter how to hack and be a criminal. They explain and guide people in most of the time, especially in these types of podcast style videos. Think of them as teacher/coaches, that open your eyes. Once you go into the professional mode you don't need them anymore. Your start path was the one that came from them, and nothing else would have been possible if you never started to learn anything. People can just start learning something from them & continue from there to a more professional mode... Same with teaches in schools, they teach you the basics and the know how, but if never start practicing and continue to be good, then you are the failure. I'm actually happy about this guy's story and I'm wishing him all the best. If he has the will to start learning and will continue this path he will be in a constant better place. As for you, you suck for that comment and you are probably the guy that will be taking his old job with this attitude

I swear David Bombal is a secret book salesman. He keeps bringing on all these author's with great content. During the pandemic lock downs I started reading again, I bought the first none text book that I had purchased just for fun in over a decade and a half. If I could share anything with the world it would be my rekindled love for books. Thank you for sharing these great learning resources that people can not only just read and enjoy, but code/hack along with.

As per the usual, excellent video! I loved the whole conversation between you and the genius Sparc Flow. Very informative! I totally get what Sparc Flow mentioned in his book about not knowing certain things. I used Windows until my sophomore year in college (2002) when I switched to Mac. I’ve played with “hacking” and scripting on Mac and Linux for a few years (as a hobby) and then I was like “I should probably re-learn PowerShell and the Windows OS…” and holy lord I felt stupid ha ha. Not knowing something and having the drive to learn it is a valuable trait that deserves to praised. Again, amazing series and I look forward to the next installment!

Somehow I missed this one when released and showed on my feed a week later. This is one of the best interviews so far, which goes in and out of the technical side of things. David Bombal also has been showing more loose and relaxed on later interviews. Whatever David Bombal's team is doing, is being done the right way. Thanks again Mr. Bombal for another top notch interview from start to finish. Keep up the good work.

He nailed it very early on. The simple nature of hacking and info sec vulnerabilities don’t lend themselves too well to writing physical books as the technology, tools, and techniques progress at such a rate that once a book is released it is immediately outdated in some ways. Especially pen testing. I have to think the target market for these books are mostly rookies/amateurs and/or college aged kids just getting their feet wet with hacking and cyber sec basics? A Sr. Pen Tester with an active sec clearance working at a DoD prime isn’t the target audience for these books. That said, it is still a very respectable effort to put out physical books in 2022 nonetheless. So props for that.

Great interview David. I'm just thinking out loud... It's very easy to set up a Kali box in the cloud for free (e.g. Linode) using a disposable email address (e.g. 10-minute mail). Using a simple search you can find a fake credit card number (used for testing) to use to sign-up for services and because you are using minimal resources you will never be charged by the provider and the provider doesn't lose out providing you don't exceed the resourcing limits. Again, I'm just thinking out loud 😉

Just remember that the forensics team Sparc Flow mentioned now has a profile to look for - someone probably British based on the username, who watches David, using Kali, fake ccs, leaving a trail of unpaid email accounts as a base of operations. Of course that could all be completely wrong, but it's something for them to start on. Not condemning or condoning your idea, just pointing out how it could be traced.

I feel like one of the hardest things in cybersecurity is choosing what kind of information and whom it comes from. Because of the huge plethora of information out on the internet, you can easily fall into the rabbit hole of learning so many different aspects of cybersecurity that you become knowledgeable in many things, but master none. Thoughts?

I think I exactly know and feel t/his pain... its across the whole IT Sector... it goes deepee and deeper and deeper, after years you are a so called Full-Stack Developer, knows how to code in many lenguages, knowing server architecture, adminstration, design patterns, security basics, plattforms, systems ... until u start figgering out - it has no end. And it will never end. And as exponential he calls the learning process, the developing process for new systems, new program languages, new tools, is annyoing after all. What in fact was a webdesigner yesterday can be splitted up in more than 5 University Degrees today. What a run. And get his words... I have another methaper for it. Just imagine you have an accident, fall inzo coma for 1-3 years and everything you know... is pretty much useless nowadays. From senior to junior in speed of light. I know no other branche where game is so hardly played.

Can someone clarify if using two VPNs makes any difference? Because, I thought about why not use Firefox VPN as well when I use Firefox... Still haven't tried that though.
