Fantastic tutorials David I have always avoided python but it appears to be the way forward for computer networks for the future, thanks for the simple straight forward easy to follow guidance.

hi David !!!, Now i want to optimize things and make them look more professional, i've taken your course on practical python cisco Network Automation and learned basic python on my own to pretty much automate all the routine tasks. can you please guide me where to go next, or which book to study to learn advance Network programming concepts which are deployed at companies like Facebook, Google, Amazon etc. I shall be thankful to you.

At a time, I had no idea why I chose a Python tutorial and today one year after and beginning my CCNA course, this is a nice suprise, I will now definitely try my luck on this.

It's not hard. You can use paramiko. There are other ways to do it, but that's the easiest module I've found.

Hi David, I have purchased your network automation course on Udemy. Can I use free Cisco Devnet CML for the network automation course or do I still have to purchase Cisco VIRL? Also the CML labs does not seem to have network automation container. If any of the general public knows the answer then please comment below. Thanks :-)

Devices used are Cisco VIRL IOSv and IOSv2 appliances. Also used the Ubuntu appliance. Have a look on my channel for examples on how to set those up if you are not sure. Also ask for help in the GNS3 community on the GNS3 site.

Do you have a link to a specific video that will set up the environment for this video? Specifically, I'm having trouble in getting the ubuntu instance to talk to the outside internet and to the GNS3 router/switch devices.

This video shows how to import the Ubuntu appliance: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n5qUqqGDrL2ce5o and here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qKPNkmydf8-erLM - if you are having issues, ask in the GNS3 community here: gns3.com/community

What is the the point here using python? Any how we have to type in the script instead of the router cli. Pls advice how is this going to save the time?
@suchyysuchar7 жыл бұрын
It is going to save time when you have to configure this on 100 switches.
@hackersatya27135 жыл бұрын
this is mainly used to save engineering work. Like tracing the path between source and destination and Creating VIPs and Pools members in Load balancers

I would optimize this script to read host address and commands from external file instead of all of these tn.write() functions and so much editing. I made similiar script in TCL/Expect.

Agreed. Have a look at the next videos in the series where we optimize the script.
