Bryce has a nice workflow, some things are a bit clunky (instancing lab for example), but mostly it's pretty user friendly and it encourages experimentation. Which suits me, since I like to just make stuff up as I go along.

That looks far more real than most of what I see from artist that have been doing that kind of thing for a long time! You certainly know your way around Bryce!

It is a surprisingly complex app. Even so, I think of all the art apps I have thus far, I know more about Bryce than any of the others. Much of this is due to your tutorials. You definitely have a way of finding neat things to do with it.

Not bad at all. You rate of success is far greater than that of most scientists! And the results are usually spectacular. I am learning more from you than I am from the Bryce 7 Artist's Guide, and that is a fairly useful guide!

You think like I do, "Outside the Box"! I really like that. It is human imagination that built what we have in this world, and our imaginations are what will advance our technology and culture far into the future!

Thank you! Well, to be fair, I'm sure a skilled photoshopper could just paint these effects in in postwork - but partly because not everyone has or wants to use photoshop postwork, but mainly because I like the challenge of doing everything in Bryce - that's sort of how I end up figuring stuff like this out. What you see here is mostly the experiments that work - I have at least 19 other failed attempts. So about 5% of ideas are worth investigation - which is not too bad I reckon.

Artists don't have to be right, they just have to be consistent - then its not wrong - it's just their style. But yes thanks, the whole aim, if you read my blog post, was to make up for the lack of documentation provided with Bryce 7 Pro. Still a way to go though, I'm a long way from having covered every feature.

I've bryce 6.1 and was upping to 7 because I thought it had a new particle feature. It appears you need Studio in tandem to do this or am I wrong? Is there a way to get particles effects in (just) 7.1? I've after effects and maybe this would be enough but I'd have to make it look as if the particles were inside the object. Not sure of AE can do that as I'm new to it. You've good ideas tho. I'm a believer in imagination as to relying on more and more tech features. You may be right in you're outlook. Fukushima is in everyone's future and that is just one inimical vector coming down among many. My concern is what happens after death as it appears we're not out of the woods yet so to speak. Having to reincarnate back on this prison is a bleak thought.

+Marc Jones Horo made a video about the particle emitter kzbin.info/www/bejne/jV67h4yeabRgns0 though it is really more of a curiosity than a fully fledged feature. The most effective approach is the one that works. Though it is nice to do everything all in one piece of software, from a practical perspective, the result of time pressures and getting the desired outcome, compromises have to be made. As for after death... well, that's an open question. Anyone who claims to know the answer I would be highly skeptical of. I've not anyone as far as I know who's come back.

+David Brinnen Yeah seems too limited (bryce particulates). And I suppose you're saying NDE reports are just as ambiguous or subjective, to which I agree.

+Marc Jones. Susan Blackmore has some interesting things to say on the related topic of OOBE. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fGS8iHaAqL1-oNk

+David Brinnen Years ago, after eating shrooms, I popped in and out of lucid dreams like 7 or 8 times, from the waking state. But I think, no feel, the peaking experience might be good practice or orientation for the after death scenario.

+Marc Jones Ahoy, I deleted it but will type it as I see the older gal has died her hair various colors. Nothing wrong with that in itself. But I've been weighing a view point that says obe and all similar leads one towards ungroundedness. So what I found interesting if not amusing was that this same material lists hair coloring, like that, not your basic cover up, is a sign of and leads to more ungroundedness. To be brief, the game involves getting a humam to Become increasingly Ungrounded. In this state they are more easily influenced from the astral domain.... Yeah another angle.

Interesting... But, I far have less faith in technology and human nature, but then again being a recluse, a cynic, a nihilist and general misanthrope, you would expect no less? I believe human civilization has already peaked and what follows will be just a slow decline thorough a period of decadence into a final "Mad Max" end game. Making it all the more important to take pleasure in the little things, because there's nothing we can do about the inevitable consequences of 200 years of excess.
