Hey David! It was fun having you around in Koblenz. I just finished the photos from the rail museum. Let me know if you want to use them anywhere. And generally ICEs are better sticking to the timetable, but the floods have caused increased disruptions for almost all trains through NRW and RP. If you are passing via Germany again, let me know. And congrats on the 10k subs!

Thanks for answering my questions! I also think it's cool that there are now class 43s running in Germany!

Wow! Thanks for answering my questions! Congratulations again on reaching 10k subscribers, and hopefully I’ll be able to meet you in Tokyo in person one day, although currently I don’t live there due to the whole pandemic, so no 100% guarantees. Although if you have any questions about the trains in Tokyo, feel free to contact me

I've covered tracks in Europe and the NE USA and riding just a few stations around Tokyo shows me that that city is *far* more complex than any rail network in the west!

Very good video. I have just signed up and I do think that transport workers should not be abused or harassed. But some staff do push themselves too far at times.

These part-cancellations seem to have become quite a regular thing unfortunately. Sorry to hear that you‘ve been affected by it. It‘s such a shame that the direct ICE from London to Frankfurt never became a reality. However, with the recent loss of several class 406 units, it may have been for the better. Maybe we‘ll get direct Eurostar services to Cologne once the merger with Thalys is complete.

Eurostar services to Cologne face the same problem DB faced with Frankfurt - London, namely the UK requirement for passengers to clear passport and security before boarding. There's no reason to assume they'll be any more likely as a result of this merger alone, sadly

Hugarian with a British accent sounds special, and also I can understand why they don't signpost the Budapest carrige in the Breclav train. I don't really think the Irish Sea Tunnel can be a thing, at least not Scotland-Belfast, A tunnel to Ireland wouldn't really work either without the use of gauge changing systems... or you just have a standard-gauge termiinus in Rosslare.

People keep talking about the gauge change as if *that* is somehow the biggest problem. It's not a problem! There are trains that run between France and Spain, Poland and Russia...

I really can't recommend living in Berlin. Rent is insane, it's loud, dirty, and the general pedestrian public tends to be really rude or at the very least cold.

Those Class 43s have German engines in them (MTU).

Oh really? Well, that is blasphemy!

other than an irish sea tunnel needing to be absurdly long the irish sea is filled with things that go boom due to the UK dumping it there.

Indeed. Not an easy one to crack, but I have faith that our great engineers will one day find a solution!
