Yes! It was David Godman who introduced me to Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi and it has changed my life. David, you have the ability to interpret his teachings in a way that is easy to understand. You are living your purpose and sharing the blessings. I use your videos to introduce the teachings of Bhagavan to others who seek. Much gratitude.

I can relate a comparable story about my discovery of Bhagavan. I'd already had some minor spiritual leanings, e.g. meditation, study of Buddhism and Hinduism in college, etc. But one day, in Tucson, Arizona where I lived around 1980, I had an urge to examine the "spirituality" section of a local book store. When I got to the section I stood there and within seconds I realized I was standing right in front of Brunton's "A Search in Secret India", an original 1935 edition. It literally grabbed hold of my attention and I instantly KNEW this was the book I was meant to buy that day. Buy it I did......and I can only say it transported me to a brand new, unforeseen place in my view of what is possible......Photos of Ramana adorn my house and have been on my puja table for 40 years.....

I had a similar experience David - We moved into a new house and a spiritual book was on the floor. I picked it up and started to read it. The book wasn't on Sri Ramana - more of a new age spiritual book, but that evoked my curiosity and I read book after book until I came to the teachings of Sri Ramana and the technique of 'Who Am I.'

It is plain to see that your work is instrumental in helping people become more available to receive the transmission of the Guru. hi David, what u said at the end of this video, those words from papaji, i have actually felt it from all the videos you have made. there is a power in the way you told the stories or interviews. i can feel presence of Ramana Maharishi in them, coming thru u. u may or may even not know it. i would listen to some of them over and over again. something would make me silent just like that book did for u. i strongly resonate what papaji has said to u. if i can feel this way about your narration, i can imagine what you did over the years must have sink in so deeply into you. thank u for all these stories and writings. their impact is far beyond. they made all these great beings come alive again and again.

When i listen to you, i so recognize the pull, the wanting to be there. When i was 18 i stumbled into a bookstore, a spiritual bookstore surching for answers. My eyes fell on this picture, having no idea who he was. Just pulled by his beauty and staring through me eyes. I asked the men in the bookstore, who this man was and then for the first time i heard his name Ramana Maharshi. Ever since he is with me at the time i was 18 he just stood in my room, i looked at him and he at me. Now all these years later, through lifes meanders i feel strongly it is ime to visit the place where he stayed for so long. Thank you for all the videos you made with love about him. Dear David, thank you for this videos, It was an amazing journey for me, I have watched all in 2 days. I have one question all about this liberation concept. If we are all supreme being "why do we have to realize it in this world, aren't we going back to our supreme form when we die?
@David_Godman8 жыл бұрын
According to Sri Ramana, at the moment of physical death all the pending, unfulfilled desires (vasanas) withdraw into the heart, the formless Self, and then emerge again later having created a new form to identify with. Until identification with a form ceases there is no final liberation.
@orkunkurucu8 жыл бұрын
Thank you for finding time to answer my boring question. I was born in muslim country but cant say I was a muslim anytime in my life. I was more like distant to all religions. I am not a believer but not an atheist also. Just by chance I have been to India on 2002 and been to osho center puna . Being able to see different technics of spiritualism in one place was nice but not impressed with osho. I was only impressed with india . After first visit I have been to India 5 times. I love India. Then again all by chance I have met and sit with couple of gurus, like Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. I was not impressed at all. Then I started to read things on islam, Muhammed, Jesus, christianity , Judaism, history of religons . The more I read, the more I have became sceptic about prophets being the chosen ones , I do not believe holy books is from a supreme being. So no guru, no prophet. But like 2-3 weeks ago I read something on Bhagavan Sri Ramana, then things changed. I was totally impressed by him. Read and watched everything on him on internet. Yours was a delight (thank you again). Now I am trying to read "Guru Vachaka Kovai ". I am trying to ask myself "Who Am I" which is going no where for now. The one thing I find hard to believe is reincarnation concept. Even without that re incarnation concept and liberation concept Bhagavan Ramana makes me a better person I can feel it. For the first time in my life I respect someone as a guru, I would love HIM to be my guru. I will try to make a budget to come and see Arunachala, I would love to come and meet with you. Hope It will happen sometime soon. Sorry for a long mail, I was so excited to see your answer eventhough I still couldn't understand, this kind of a test "liberation concept". If "self" is brahman indeed why is there a world to test your abilities to find out you are really brahman. Is it like when you realize your supreme self, you go to a another level of being instead of this world ( which very beautiful and amazing already). Living this life as bhagavan did, most of you can be is amazing. Not sure there is anything else after death. Many thanks, hope to see you in this life soon. Love
@Mwaterfall7 жыл бұрын
Orkun Kurucu - Could it be your understanding of making the true self an object apart from your ego-self... Yes we are tested to merge back to the true self, but as well to renew and transform the ego self - not get rid of it. Hence free will is given for that purpose... To identify with form is not to be liberated, but at liberation forms must still exist, because it is the nature of the true self to recreate. So from one ego-self to a higher ego-self, and onwards until all attachments are dissolved, and self is "one" with self. Individuality is not meant to be completely destroyed but raised to higher level. Just my thoughts, peace :)

But this Book is a Mantra i read it twice a day for months and it changed myself to be more HAPPY She gave me my Mantra twice so i knew its ok to go for my love to Ramana . And she also said : I dont go for Tiru to make Hugging Darshan .... Why should i go there since Ramana is still there . And This is Very True when you enter his Ashram the Silence still stays .... they Care lovingly for the Cows and Pets ever since he left Physically but for me it was Very Special there . Coming from the EU i didnt even know that Peacocks could Jump 4 Meters high if they want ...
