This is to use a USB C to HDMI video cable, which connects the Flip 5's USB C port to a HDMI input on a TV or monitor and sends a video output to the TV or monitor. This type of connection is screen mirroring. Where what you see on your Flip 5 screen is exactly what you see on your TV to monitor. This is what is meant by a screen mirror or mirroring. Unfortunately, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 does not have the DeX Mode that's found on the S series Samsung smartphones such as the S23 Ultra. Been using Miracast for 10? Years (Screen cast) for wireless connecting to TV for movies, typing (Bluetooth keyboard) etc. Receiver is $20-30 US dollars and plugs in to HDMI input on TV. My first smartphone in 2010 had wired connection through USB which worked. But you had to run the wire. Cheers from New Orleans

Hi. Unfortunately, no. The black bars are because the screen from the phone is being mirrored. However, if Samsung decide to update the software in the Flip 5 to allow for DeX mode, then this will be full screen 16:9, just like it is on the S series phones.
