Karoo Kitaar Blues was a concert of folk singers and musicians that David Kramer presented at the Baxter Theatre in Cape Town, South Africa.
One of the musicians was Tokas Lodewyk from Richmond who plays guitar with an "optel and knyp" style.
Here he performs Antie Maak Oop Jou Deur with David Kramer.

Does Oom Tokas Lodewyk also play 4 string like the Batswana Folk Guitar players? The tuning of the guitars is very similar too.

Good question. But , no Tokas Lodewyk played on six strings and had his own tuning. I found with the Karoo musicians the tunings were often regional or unique to the individual. The Batswana players like Ronnie Moipolai all seemed to use a similar set-up of one bass string(often clutch cable) and three top strings tuned to an open chord.

@@DavidKramerSA I grew up listening to the likes of the late great Andries Bok on Radio Botswana One on Sunday Mornings at 9 AM. My amateur ear couldn't really tell the difference between the Karoo sound to the folk Setswana style especially when travelling down to the Northern Cape but I could definitely tell a major sonic shift whenever they would play the guitar heavy Zimbabwean/Congolese sounds on Radio.
