So if you bring both on the plane, do you have another carry on luggage as well? I typically use the everyday backpack with a separate carry on luggage and they both go with me on the plane - the backpack underneath the chair. With the sling, would the break the "one luggage, one personal item" rule?
@DavidManningvlog5 жыл бұрын
Great question Andy! I usually check a small bag, then carry those two on board with me. Times when I want to just bring everything carry-on, I'll pack the sling full of clothes, then put it in my carry-on, then pack clothes around it. That way when I get on the plane, I have my carry-on bag in the overhead and my Everyday Backpack under the seat, but when I get to where I'm going, I have my Sling with me as a daypack!
@AndyVNguyen5 жыл бұрын
@@DavidManningvlog MY MAN! That's how you respond to a question! That was definitely my thought process. I love PD products and all but I heard a reviewer say that they could fit the travel bag underneath the seat in front of them and I was very hesitant to believe that. I personally prefer knowing where all my stuff is and being able to hit the ground running when I get to my location so I don't like checking bags. I'm more of a one bag + camera bag person (I wish I could truly one bag as a videographer..) so I'll definitely be packing the sling in my suitcase! Thanks man. I love your style of discussion and talking about gear. I aspire to do the same with my videos. Keep doin you
@DavidManningvlog5 жыл бұрын
@@AndyVNguyen Someone said they could fit that new travel bag under the seat?! I feel like you probably could if you didn't have it stuffed, but why would you want to? Stuff a bag that big under the seat and now you have no leg room! I totally get what you're saying too, I wish I could just be a one bag overheard, one bag under the seat kind of guy, but alas I love my gear too much. Or rather, I love too much gear! Hahhaaa! The sling in the carry-on is a pretty sweet move, I'm stoked to hear how you like it. It's what I do with my camera messenger bag when I travel to shoot weddings. Stuff it full of clothes, then pack that in my carry on, so when I get there I can just load it up with lenses to shoot the wedding! I appreciate the kind word Andy, stoked to see what you create!

Aye that's me! Congrats on 2kkkk!!!! Excited to see Zoey (Zoe? Zoë? haha) and how she is with the little one! And I think it'd be cool to see your "everyday carry" in your sling. Like you said, the point of the smaller bag is to not carry everything, so it'd be cool to know for reference of what you carry and what you deem necessary depending on what you're doing. Like on hikes and when you're going out all day doing different things, what do you always bring. Like, what go pro things do you always bring, and drone stuff, etc etc. that no matter what you're doing you'll bring "X." Doesn't have to be a video, could be a typed response :P, I'm just trying to get a good sense of what to bring when I'm out and about and don't need everything. I have a bad habit of over packing everything, so if I could I would probably bring everything, haha. Like, do you think I'd be able to fit my canon (t6i) an extra lens (maybe), go pro and like a few accessories, and drone? Thanks for the shout out, that made my day, haha. I love watching your videos! I think I've watched your Maui vlogs like 10 times, haha. I'm writing down ideas for my travel videos and I love your videos and like the style of them! And I love the eco system of peak design! I was looking up youtube videos of the backpack after watching yours and then I found the camera clip and everything else and I was blown away by how sleek everything looks!
@DavidManningvlog5 жыл бұрын
Aye, that is you! I think that's a great idea. Sort of my EDC gear that no matter which setup I choose, those things are always with me. For sure putting that one on the video idea list! And yes, the Peak Design eco system is sweet! There's for sure things that still need improvement, but I appreciate how much those guys think about how people are actually using their gear and then creating products that match that!

Nice insight and a big deep dive. Appreciate you experimenting with the 10L Sling and the Camera Strap idea. While you do not like it I just might. Not sold on the capture clip yet. I have a small 3L Sling and my Fuji w/ 24mm, batteries and cards fit. But for a three week trip I would not take that bag …too small. My travel goal would be to use my 10L bag to accommodate a Fuji X S10, 2 zoom lenses, zippered fleece, accessories, nutrition and keep the bag accessible and light. I think the 10L, while a bit big could check the boxes for me and would be a personal bag that fits under the airplanes seat. My clothing would than be in a carry on back back 34L or less so it fits in the overhead bins and taken with me on trains with no luggage transfers to complicate logistics. Good job 👍

Oh man, I've had and tried so many different bags, much to my wife's dismay! Hahhaa! I've tried and still have a bunch of messenger bags; LowePros, Tenbas, Ona bags, and a few others.
