We're spoilt. as a musical generation we are actually spoilt. We're so used to hearing polished production and tight playing that we don't stop to realise when we're listening to a creative genius. I love how David flips musical ideas on their head and introduces such interesting blends of folk, with arguably a dab of film score beauty, on top. David Maxim Micic is a shining jewel in a sea of mediocrity.

Hey David, hope you read this! Last year I was taking some guitar lessons and my teacher at the moment was in the middle of the recording process of his solo album, so one day I ask him how the whole thing was doing, and he says "fine, I'm just waiting for David Maxim Micic's guitar solo to start the mixing and mastering", and I was like... "David who?..." boy! was I in for treat! then he brought up the old youtube and proceeded to show me your music. So, long story short, the guy I was taking lessons with was Benjamín Lechuga, and since that day when he showed me your channel it has been pretty much the only thing I have been listening to... seriously, from Destiny Potatoe to you last EP, everything is incredible! I tell you this so that you know that your music has made it all the way here to Chile and it has made quite an impact, because I'm not the only one in here who loves your music! Btw, I hear Benjamín wants to make a playthrough of all his album, you should totally be on Introspection playing your solo! One last thing! I just uploaded a cover of Jakub's solo on Bilo part 1 (naively thinking I'd be the first one hahaha), It'd be great if you could check it out on my channel! ;). Greetings from Chile! PS: could you tell Aleksandra Djelmas that I think she is amazing and that she ever comes to Chile we should definitely grab a beer! hahaha.

I was walking through the Student Union at the University of Central Florida this morning. Dominoe's pizza hadn't opened yet, but the dude getting things ready was playing some of your music. Jeff Hatcher This is awesome ^^ Ya'll should all get together and jam :) I had a similar experience, I go to Sam Houston State University, and I walked into the local game store and they were about to close. They had some music going over the speakers, and I could hear lots of ghost notes and cool rim shot accents in the drums. I asked the guy who it was and it was a band from Japan named Toe. Sure enough he knew who David was, and plenty of other artists in this genre.

My story with Ego EP : Even if i'm a professional musician since ages now, I usually am not an extroverted expansive person, but you, sir David fucking genius Micic (and Karnivool) deserve my heart to be open to you. I'm in a LDR (Long Distance Relationship), but I consider myself to be lucky since I've managed to see my girl every month. But now things in our life are changing, i don't know where we're going, and the moment Ego EP was released i was in the airport coming back from her country, it was the last time we saw each other. U can easily imagine how shitty i was feeling. For some strange wicked chance/coincidence I was listening to that beautiful building climax from the Develop chapter (7:45) in the same exact moment when the plane was taking off the ground. I was about to have an heart attack, and those hidden voices sounded like my thoughts. The Ep was not something i was listening to anymore, but the soundtrack of my inner moments. The things you inspire me the most through are your "Music for the sake of art" attitude which makes you dare to expose your nature through music, no matter how bizarre, demanding, sad it can be received. And your amazing self production and arranging skills. I just felt the need to tell you : Thank you, David. I hope to meet you in person one day.

You really weren't kidding when you said Vladimir was going to do a crazy vocal solo xD... Well, David, there's not enough words in the world to describe how amazing this EP turned out to be. From the Plini-esque vibes & Jakub Zytecki type riffs in Define to the incredible string work & violin solo on Develop, to the awesome Russian tango madness of Disorder all the way down to the outro on Devise that almost blew out the speakers of my earbuds... It was absolutely, insanely perfect! Ego is loud & heavy and a brand new sound to djent and progressive metal as a whole. Music definitely needed this. I can't wait to see what new frontiers Eco will pioneer for us when it releases in August. Thanks David, keep on making music for the sake of music! David Maxim Micic

Truly amazing. The build up to the ending blew me away. To me it felt like a musical representation of what death might be like. The INTENSE build up that just kinda ends. But not with a resolution like most songs. It's like the last chord that would resolve it all is intentionally not there. BUILD BUILD BUILD and.......done, no resolution. Just like life LIVE GROW BUILD and.......death. And that's the end of EGO! This double album is fucking amazing!!. It has inspired me more than any album has for years, as a guitar player The way you seem to represent metaphysical concepts and emotions melodically rather than lyrically is truly amazing!!! Plz keep up the great work Your music has enriched my life and I just hope one day I can record something that will impact someone the way your work has impacted me. Long live music!!!
