You need the entire NT in order to understand. Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye made safe thorow faith, and that not of your selves: For it is the gift of God, and cometh not of works, lest any man should boast himself." It's only talking about worldly boastful works that reward the worker not God. Read it again and understand it. James 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified of his deeds when he offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Thou seest how that faith wrought with in his deeds, and through the deeds was the faith made perfect. 1 Peter 1:17 And if so be that ye call on the father which without respect of person judgeth according to every man’s works, see that ye pass the time of your pilgrimage in fear. Ecclesiastes 12:14 For God shall judge all works and secret things, whether they be good or evil. Romans 2:13 before God they are not righteous which hear the law: but they which do the law shall be justified. James 2:17-18 But one shall say: Thou hast faith, and I have deeds: Shew me thy faith by thy deeds: and I will shew thee my faith by my deeds. Believest thou that there is one God? Thou doest well. The devils also believe and tremble. Wilt thou understand o thou vain man, that faith without deeds is dead. James 2:24 Ye see then how that of deeds a man is justified, and not of faith only.

I used to think that John 3:16 spoke about how much God loved the world, but I once read it and my eyes were opened. The original Greek in which the verse was written says God “thus loved” the world. The word “thus” means “in this manner”. You will also notice that God’s actions in John 3:16 are written in the past tense. Both verses 15 and 16 of John 3 speak of the cross, but verse 15 is a conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus of what Jesus will do in the cross whereas verse 16 is a commentary on verse 15. This also proves that John wrote his gospel after the cross and not while the events in Jesus life were happening. You see this in John 14:26 and John 7:39 and John20:30-31.

In the Bible it says you receive the Holy Spirit, which is life. Do not grieve the Holy Spirit as it shall leave you, one cannot be sealed in unbelief can they. And Anyone not found with the Holy Spirit will not have a connection to Christ. John 6:63 'It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life.' Jn 3:5 'that which hath been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which hath been born of the Spirit is spirit' So if the Spirit leaves , does the flesh remain reborn? No , He blots the name out of the book. It mentions those who will fall away due to false prophets. This is the removal of the Spirit. One must have the Spirit to have Christ. faith in a false prophets christ is not the true CHRIST. So 2 Thess says the Holy Spirit will leave the earth upon the calling of all of Christs church. That is the dead first and then in an instant the living. Only those who know the true Christ will hear His call, and it will be difficult among all the false teachers. Btw, I like David Pawson and many of his teachings are great. But I am saying that regarding God's part in choosing us, Pawson didn't deal with scripture to this point any better (as least in my estimation) than those who are lopsided in the other direction. All of scripture is true, but unfortunately we usually only see one side or the other, and discount the rest rather than realizing it's all true and all applies in reality.

@@DavidPawsonMinistry Good morning. I'm not sure of the exact time stamps in his talks, but in several places he refutes God's sovereignty in choosing people (Calvinism), without refuting scripture which supports God's sovereignty. I've come to the conclusion that God does choose people, because the Bible states so in clear terms, but I've also come to the conclusion that we must choose God (Arminianism), because the Bible also states that clearly. Charles Spurgeon says that God's sovereignty and man's responsibility are friends, and that we should let both coexist without even needing to understand how they reconcile, yet in God's wisdom, the two do reconcile. We're seeing two sides of the same coin, and both sides are 100% true. Few see this, of course, and can only see one side or the other. In doing this, however, they must ignore scripture. Romans 9: 14 What shall we say then? There is no injustice with God, is there? Far from it! 15 For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whomever I have mercy, and I will show compassion to whomever I show compassion.” 16 So then, it does not depend on the person who wants it nor the one who runs, but on God who has mercy. 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very reason I raised you up, in order to demonstrate My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed throughout the earth.” 18 So then He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires. 19 You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who has resisted His will?” 20 On the contrary, who are you, you foolish person, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? 21 Or does the potter not have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one object for honorable use, and another for common use? 22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with great patience objects of wrath prepared for destruction? 23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon objects of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory, 24 namely us, whom He also called, not only from among Jews, but also from among Gentiles

A good preach by David. Just one point. David implies that God does not know the future, when we are taught that God does know everything and that includes the future at 1 hour and 8mins to 1 hour 10 mins into his talk. This is must be a contradiction by David and wrong for him to preach that God doesn't know the future.🤔
@DavidPawsonMinistry Жыл бұрын
Hi David DID believe that God "does not know the future" and his believe needs to be explained and understood - it is based on what the Bible states . There is no doubt that The Father knows the time of Jesus return - this was confirmed by Jesus, however there are a number of verses in the Bible where God asks a question or makes an interesting statement Genesis 3:11 God says to Adam - who said you were naked ? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat from? What a seemingly daft question! - surely God knew - so why did he ask? . ..........Ok not conclusive? Genesis 22:2 God says to Abraham ....Take your son, your only son whom you love - Isaac - and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering ....... - a commandment which Abraham obeyed ! Genesis 22:11 but the Angel of the Lord called out to him from Heaven ........."Now I know that you fear God because you have not withheld from me your son" - the Angel of the Lord is believed to be Jesus.........but that aside "now I know" ... because you have not withheld from me your son Why did God say ....now I know?....why did God put Abraham to the test to see if he feared God .....surely God knew because God knows everything ?! There is no doubt God is all knowing but when comes to choices we make - the Bible implies that until we make a decision God.... does not know how what we will choose ...and he puts us in positions where we have to make a choice to see how we will respond The New Testament is all about what Jesus has done - and HE has done everything for us to receive Eternal Life...... however not everyone will be saved why? ......being saved is a two way process - Jesus has done everything required - there is nothing we can do to be saved - its all down to GODS grace - however we have to choose ....we have a decision to make - love the world or fear GOD ....and there is evidence that God does not know until we make that choice .......yet Father knows the future and knows the time of Jesus return Its one of the unfathomable truths of the Bible but like many things we believe - the evidence is there in the Moble but we have a choice to make - accept or reject .............. This is one topic I struggle - How come GOD does not know everything - HE IS GOD ! but, like David I cannot deny what the Bible says It also answered the subject of predestination - God 'predestined' that we would all be with him in Glory - HE did everything that was required for us to have eternal life ..........yet only a few will make that choice ....and does God know who will make that choice? Of is that part of the process of choosing a bride for his Son ? Those who will believe in Jesus and Keep His Fathers Commandments ?

During the Protestant revolt, Luther, Zwingli, Calvin, and the English Tudors all used and condoned torture and capital punishment for heresy. For instance, John Calvin, during his rule of Geneva between 1546-64, had 58 executed for heresy or serious sin, 73 exiled, and 900 imprisoned out of a population of 20,000. In England during the reign of Elizabeth I (1559-1603), over 250 Catholics were executed, many first suffering horrible tortures; many were sentenced to being hung, drawn, and quartered (hung until unconscious, disemboweled, and then cut into four pieces) and priests had the added punishment of being emasculated. Moreover, in post-Reformation Europe, Britain executed over 30,000 as witches, and Germany, over 100,000.

Paul writes about being “freed from sin”, being “dead to sin” all IN CHRIST. (Romans 6:1-13) 1 John 3:8 says “those who sin are of the devil” & “those born of God CANNOT SIN FOR HIS SEED IS IN US”, so how can a true Believer who is “dead to sin still live in it”??? (Romans 6:1-2; 10-13) 🤔
@SahilPawar953 жыл бұрын
Even if sin is dead inside of us, it is still there. And if we get complacent in our walk with the Lord we can breathe life back into it. The difference between a believer & an unbeliever is that sin is in complete control of them & righteousness is dead while in believers righteousness is alive & sin is occasional & forever decreasing

@@adonyisrael1724 sorry, Sahil never said “law of sin”… it’s sad how so many people think “being saved” means we “have made it”. Because wide is the path to destruction, and narrow is the way to life. We will be judged for our actions, it’s plainly stated in the scriptures. The real question we will be asked is has the Grace of Christ transformed us so we follow his words and do the deeds he exemplified for us. We cannot start the path and say we are done…

You cannot trust your own confession of sin. True spirituality is known when man confesses his sin as sin. That you know the truth about yourself. One must not be ignorant of one's sin. And God's judgment on that. But you are NOT saved through YOUR confession of sin, But by Jesus confessing YOUR sins as HIS and atoning for them with His blood. AND NOT through YOUR surrender either, but through Jesus' surrender to the will of the Father. We are saved through a Substitute who has done everything for us. The Only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. He Is your salvation.

if one is looking for the true nature of God then there is only source readily available to the common man and that, of course, is the Bible. Here we find a multi-layered deity who mirrors all the imperfections and sins of Man to a fault.

It’s been my experience that when pastors and teachers do a lot of research about biblical principles using outside sources they almost invariably get twisted around and confused. It’s akin to the Roman Catholics - they listen to the voice of the Pope and of tradition and allow it to supersede the Bible. Don’t study Calvin. Don’t study Arminius. What does the Bible say? When you stand before God you will give an account of your life - saying “Calvin taught me that…” or “Arminius taught me that…” won’t be a valid response. One of the main concepts that we as Christians need to separate ourselves from is the idea that we need to somehow contribute to our salvation. It’s like saying “Jesus did His part now I need to do my part.” Salvation is through faith in Jesus alone - and I’m saying that as a ex-Roman Catholic. If you think you need to “do something” for your salvation you will never have peace because you’ll never know if you’ve done enough, or been good enough. I’ve been there, I struggled with that for years and believe me, there is no logical end to that mindset. Know that God is logical - you will never study anything in the Bible that is illogical. God is the very definition of logic. The challenge is to set aside our pride and give way to God’s logic. I like David - I have benefitted from his other teachings. This one though, no. Sometimes I wonder if really good people (good like Mother Theresa or Billy Graham or whomever appears morally good) don’t struggle with sin like most of us do and then they interpret the Bible through their “good” eyes. Perhaps David is like that. I’m not. The good that I would like to do I don’t do, and the things I don’t want to do I always manage to do. But I know that where sin abounds grace does abound even more.

If you listen to what David teaches you will discover that David also believe that Salvation is through Faith - however you have made the statement yourself - ''Salvation is through Faith'' ......and to be saved you must continue in faith. The Greek word for faith and faithfulness is one and the same. 'Matthew 24:13 - He who continues to the end will be saved ....not through their works but by continuing /persevering to the end . The Book of Revelation has many references about persecution and ''''to him who overcomes'' The NT is full of warnings for those who do not overcome - you are not saved because you have faith - you are saved if you continue in faithfulness. There is no doubt in my mind, the NT is very clear that you can lose your salvation David does not teach that Salvation is through Works. You raise an interesting question - where are Billy Graham and Mother Teresa now? - no one can question the good that she did, but no one and no amount of good work is good enough - that's where Gods Grace comes in I am defending Davids Teaching here because there is a subtle difference in that David does teach that we have a role to play in our salvation and its not about works - its about perseverance and remaining faithful to the One who can save - by His Grace

If the Gospel reached us via the Way of James (see book of James), rather than the Way of Paul (doctrine of vicarious atonement), it would not be the Christianity we know of today. Bible led me to the lost gospels by the original apostles, by the miracle of God found this generation. Pastor you're one of the sincere Christians, pls research the early Christians. The Christian sect that ultimately prevailed is not the original one with the true believers led by James brother of Jesus, it's the sect led by the followers of Paul the Antichrist apostle. It's up to us to flush out the Antichrist that is destroying Christianity from within.

@@DavidPawsonMinistry Hello, Steve, Unlike some commentators, David Pawson, is a delight to listen to. Clear and precise. very effective. As to Revelation, however, the biblical chapter on which he spoke most eloquently, I must disagree- with the validity of its writings. Has it not been considered that Revelation is no more than the ramblings of an old man who was imprisoned in a penal colony. I think we should take a breath and realise it was an old man, supposedly a John of Patmos to distinguish him from the author of the Gospel of John. They may be two different people as Revelation was written in much poorer Greek than the Gospel, so it has been claimed. John of Patmos, was a man fixated with weird dreams and visions; likely he chewed on something like Hashish to lessen to pain of his imprisonment? According to this old man, he saw an angel take hold of Satan to lock him up in a prison for a thousand years. The old man was certainly subject to hallucinations, he said he heard a voice and turning around saw 7 candlesticks and standing between the candlesticks was Jesus as white as snow and out of his mouth went a sharp sword. The old man also said an angel cried out "Babylon has fallen!" Babylon Fallen? Why was the angel making such an announcement? Was it important? It certainly was if the defeat of Babylon had just happened But the fall of Babylon had taken place in 530 BCE. . In chapter 5 we find "And behold...the voice of many angels, around the throne...and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand times ten thousand and thousands and thousands saying with one voice ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches’. Have you ever read anything more absurd? I suggest, that the contents of Revelations are no more than the product of an unhinged mind.
@edwardlongfellow58194 жыл бұрын
@Darren If chapter 5 Revelation was not bizarre enough look to chapter 4:7-8 " The first living creature was like a lion, the second was like an ox, the third had a face like a man, the fourth was like a flying eagle. Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day and night they never stop saying: 'Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty; who was, and is, and is to come.” They Never Stopped Chanting? Absurd? And you are telling me that the mind that produced Revelation was a mind touched by God. And here am I blaming poor old John for this written nonsense when it was not John but God himself who was the true author. However, I will certainly agree with you on one major point Revelations was certainly written under duress! Stress being a major contributor. And perhaps stress was a factor in the erroneous statement that Jesus was ever a sacrifice. This notion of a sacrificed Jesus is found in a hymn to Jesus sung by a choir of angels-"You are worthy to take the scroll ...because you were sacrificed" Revelation 5:9. But how could the angels and God's 'inspired' author of Revelation get their facts so wrong? Jesus was never sacrificed-he was Executed!
@edwardlongfellow58194 жыл бұрын
@Leslie Dodds Incidentally is this holy Spirit whom you say filled John of Patmos the same spirit who disgracefully impregnated the bride -to-be of another man?

@Leslie Dodds It appears that your knowledge of scripture is not sufficient to carry debate. Or perhaps you read but cannot see the Gospel propaganda that blatantly attempts to influence the minds of the naive-and indeed has mightily succeeded. And if you cannot it would be best if you kept silent thus to avoid embarrassing yourself. Peace..
