David Pawson begins the study on Malachi by discussing Replacement Theology which sees blessings promised to Israel (but not the curses) as now transferred to the Church. David says, ‘this seems to me a bad case of prejudice’. Malachi was a prophet to the returned exiles in Israel. Rebuilding had taken place, but times were hard. The people were blaming God and, though they didn’t return to idolatry, were becoming complacent, their religion a formality. The priests were not passionate either. David Pawson says the more you put into your faith, the more you get out of it. Goodness disappears when God disappears. The book of Malachi is all in prose indicating that God had become drained of feelings for his people - though the Covenant with them was not broken. David says that when God spoke in poetry, it was to convey his feelings. When a nation gives God up, he gives them up. Malachi is unique in 5 features: a high proportion is the direct Word of God; it is anonymous as Malachi was not his name; sharp exchanges between prophet and people; prose not poetry; it was God’s last Word for 400 years. David explains ‘love’ and ‘hate’ in the Bible.
David also has a book on this series find out more here: www.davidpawson.co.uk/search/...

I did not know that he went to be with the Lord. I just found his teachings on KZbin and got attracted to them. I thought of looking for more in the future. Even after his departure he is talking to our hearts and teaching His Word. What a sad loss his passing away us for us is.

Its good to read the "Present with Religion", a book available for free on the internet.The book is about the truth of life and it shows the full picture of life fo the first time so that you may stop being deceived by the world and be able to follow the steps of Jesus and other prophets to Heaven.Knowing the truth is the key factor in our salvation.We must know the truth and live in it and change ourselves according to it in ordee to be saved.There is no other way to our salvation.With the knowledge of the truth there comes true repentance which means changing our minds and also true obediance to God' s law and finally our sanctification which is a lifelong process.And Gos in His mercy will give us His wonderdul grace which is the time and ability to make the proper change.Only in this way will we be able to attain our eternal salvation.Our task is to find this narrow gate that leads to God and do it quickly and stay on it till the end no matter what.Then and only then we will be saved.There is nothing more important or serioua to do in this fallwn world as our eternal fate depends on it.

As long as a Jew accepts Jesus as their Messiah then they will be saved! It was offered first to the Jew who killed Jesus then offered to the Gentiles. We are all equal in God's eyes now under the New Covenant.

So this is my question. When we look at Israel today the people identify themselves as Jews . As I understand it the Jews come from the tribe of Judah . So when we talk of the restoration of present day Israel is it the blood line of the tribe of Judah that we consider and does that include the line of people that may have converted over to Judaism over the centuries ? How is a Jew defined a race or a religion ?
@craighutchinson6856
@craighutchinson6856 4 жыл бұрын
From a historical standpoint at the time of Christ those that identified as Jews were of the 12 tribes. And it was prophesied that they would return and they did for the coming of Christ ?- his first coming. Judah I believe was actually two tribes where as in the time of king david ten tribes split off and indentified themselves as Isreal However after the captivity in Babylonian they were allowed to come back and they were called Jews collectively - ie from the 12 tribes. This is I believe primarily accurate I'm not a scholar in Biblical history or theology but I believe it's a mistake say that Jews are from the tribe of Judah any more than that Judah the nation was from the tribe of Judah .

Like all modern day sermons and commentaries it lack the emphasis on how the prophets used metaphors. That is why the tree of good and evil is real as we see what is good and evil in our eyes rather than God's view. Conditional and unconditional love debate is an example on how we tries to establish what is good in our views based on society's views

I am Jewish, all my life I have lived around Jews and I do not know a single Jew who is good in trading. or in business. I moved to Canada and now live among non Jewish people and I meet many people who are good with money management, finances, trade, business. I don't have a vaguest understanding why, here, Jews are said again and again to be good with trade.

Its an interesting observation To understand Davids comment you should not look at the people in your community - look at some of the most successful Businesses and business people in the world …… they were created or run by Jews eg Rothschild’s Goldman Sachs ….. are in the top 10 investment banks in the world - but not companies you will hear about everyday unless you walk in these circles Not every top business nor all of the top business person are Jews …….but from such a small race of people worldwide - your race has outperformed any other in my experience A country a Jewish person may or many not wish to move to today is Russia - but are you aware many of the riches people in Russia ( Oligarchs) and some of those in the highest Government positions are of Jewish parentage ? Take America: the forbes list of richest people in America lists 5 of the top 10 are of Jewish parentage ….and generated their wreath through creating some of the most successful companies in the world Microsoft/ Amazon/ Facebook/ Oracle/ even Google I am not a Jew but I can only respect the success of your people. - throughout history and especially today

@@DavidPawsonMinistry This all seems very strange :-) To me, anyways. Speaking of all this worldly power, do you think this economic power played a role in the return of Jews to Israel, a return regarded here as miraculous? Another problem, in my eyes, is that people listening to these remarks then think that every Jew has this talent with trade, which is certainly not true. It creates a very disturbing prejudice. Thank you for your response.

@@sharonagoren6751 The return of the Jews to Israel is an interesting question - was it miraculous? ....was it financially driven? .......what I find very interesting is that a relatively small nation , in 1948 fought a war of independence and won A .people who had been victimised and remained passive throughout the ages, who had been held prisoners in Concentration camps up to the end of the Second World War - in 1948 when Britain removed their Troops from Israel the Arab- Israeli war started and Israel won against the odds - where did these Jews learn the skills of warfare to hold out against Lebanon, Syria, Iraq and Egypt all of whom has experienced armies?

@@DavidPawsonMinistry I have lived there half of my life and my husband was born in 1943 in Tel Aviv and experienced British ocupation and I cannot answer, I'm interested just like you. Thank you for your peaceful and friendly responses! I just wish that David explained this more in detail instead of generalizing about the Jews. Other than that I'm OK. I finished listening to all the Old Testament videos and I'm ready to continue with the New Testament.
