This was so validating! Thank you! I find it hard traveling because of the scents added to hotel rooms. Social situation are difficult because of people's laundry detergent, underarm deodorant and perfume's. And as you mentioned, Uber's as well. I get migraines and/or brain fog when I'm exposed to scents. I am hopeful this will eventually change. Thank you again for all your work Drs. Austin and David Perlmutter.

Very valuable information. You did not mention inhaling or diffusing organic essential oils. Your opinion on that?

As soon as I saw him, I knew. Two handsome men. Brilliant and kind. Lucky mom. Being old, disabled, and poor, living in a slumlord's property, who won't fix anything, there's black mold and who knows what else in this dump. I'm not able to move to a nicer place, out of my budget. Health is for those with wealth.

Then, you should smuggle yourself on a ship to India, Indonesia or similar place... where one can live mostly outdoors, in fresh air.

Most people in my neighborhood have lawn services that spray all sorts of herbicides and pesticides several times a year - pretty awful for our health and local streams and bays where the runoff goes. Please talk about this on an episode. Thank you.

We installed a cyclonic (non-filtered) built-in vacuum system that exhausts outside. People are amazed how well it works compared to other built-ins they have used. The one we had in our old house was terrible so I did a lot of research to get this one right. The central vacuum unit itself is important but proper design of the piping is probably more important. I empty the 8+ gallon dust collection tub outside about twice/year. Also, we love our induction cooktop. It responds and is as fast as gas and is super easy to clean. Unlike radiant electric cooktops, the glass never gets that hot so spills don't burn. The only downside of a good induction is you must use induction compatible pots and pans.

I stopped using candles many years ago. Only thing I do now is diffuse essential oils

The amount of fragrances used today is outrageous. It is everywhere. Walking my dog and smelling the laundry scents from the dryer vents absolutely gag me. Your information is outstanding. Thank you so much. You are enlightening me to some areas I never thought of. Like your father, whom I think the world of. I, too, was emptying my vacuum dust into my kitchen trash.

Thank you so much for this! I am a long time incense user and candle user. I recently got a floor fan with a HEPA filter built in. It showed the air quality as fantastic, pure green. Then I lit a stick of incense and the HEPA filter went off the charts into red! I have not used an incense stick since then. Now I know why, after listening to your talk! Thank you.

Another improvement to indoor air quality can be the addition of an 'energy recovery ventilator'. This is a mechanical device that brings in filtered fresh air from outside while at the same time it exhausts poluted indoor air. As stale air is removed from the more highly poluted areas, bath and kitchen areas, the fresh air is is deliverd to the area where the most time is spent by occupants, the bedrooms. The energy recovery part of this system is retaining energy that is already in the heated or cooled indoor interior air as it is passed through an exchanger module that transfers temperature and humidity through a airproof but permiable membrane..

Thank you so much for this information. My husband was diagnosed with CIRS (Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome), and breathing in the toxins from a water damaged shower has been at the root of his debilitating illness. We have remediated our bathroom, upgraded our HVAC system, and purchased several high-end air filters to improve the air in our home. We had no idea how badly the microbes in our air had affected his health.

Thank you for this very informative and timely podcast. I just realized recently that the building I work in is full of mold due to extreme water damage. I cannot just quit and the new owners are not interested in cleaning it up. I became suspicious because for 5 months I put myself on an extremely low inflammation diet; my joints feel better, however I am so fatigued, my hair is falling out, I started getting nose-bleeds 6 mo ago, and low grade headaches. Plus I cannot drop any weight despite being on an almost zero carb lifestyle. I need to do something. I also need to test my Apt building as well. It's so expensive to be mold sick.

Quick observation from a thinking layman... when vacuuming began in the house and the meter went" off the charts", you did not consider that the vac exhaust was stirring up particulates laying on surfaces. They may not have been exhausting through the hepa filter. I have seen this occur in my shop. If you are moving about the house with your vac ( especially an over the shoulder unit with rear exhaust) running, pay attention to what direction the air is blowing out of the vac.

So true! Only - how can one be wise and not fool? ... that's why proper EDUCATION is the ground for EVERYTHING. (One more blue/red pill question - why doesn't mainstream edu-system teach properly about health and wealth?)

For people with microwaves over the stove- some can vent outside but a lot just circulate the air. Just like the car cabin filter- there is a filter to change in microwaves (usually charcoal too) that some might not know about.

I had no idea... Extrapolating from this advice about fragrances and particulates, I realize my huge flower garden is nothing but a dementia-causing hell; and when you add in the pollens and dust created by my trees that I once carefully planted so to create bird "flying corridors", all I have done is build a gigantic fragrance and particulate-generating machine! Not to mention what is coming off all those birds and bees flapping their wings! This weekend it all comes down! But I'll have to arrange for a bio-hazard company to come and Tent my entire yard while they scorch it all down to the earth... But the exposed earth will be FILLED with all kinds of PM2.5s! Should I cover it all with plastic sheeting? Oh my gawd, this is going to be hell on earth- literally. We certainly can't drive the cars into the garage anymore... push them in? Plus my house is new, and I SAW when they were building it, the amount of adhesives they used, not to mention the dust that comes off all that Insulation! What about the strong fragrances that fill the house at Thanksgiving? And a family of 6 running around FARTING all day! What the hell kinds of benzene are in THAT? AHHHHHRRRUUUGHhhhuuuhhh!
