Welcome to southern Armenia! This country small country in Eurasia is one of the most exciting destinations in the Caucasus Region, and we’re about to explore it right now.
We’re starting in the villages of Goris and Tatev, known for the nearby Tatev Monastery. We’re exploring the history of this proud monastery, which stands proudly on the edge of a deep gorge, was home to roughly 1,000 monks during the 11th century.
Then, we’re heading to Areni, a small village known for producing wine for over 6,000 years. We’re heading to the village’s annual Areni Wine Festival to try wines from around the country, dive into the local cuisine, and enjoy music and dance performances.
From the churches and graveyards of Noravank Monastery to a cave winery known as the oldest winery in the world, Areni is an incredible mix of history and food, and we’re exploring it all right now. So come with me and let’s explore the villages of Goris, Tatev, and Areni, Armenia!

Good day David. Hey, another good one. There really were cave dwellers in olden times. 🤔. Armenia is such a vast country and everything is huge. It's amazing to see those churches still standing with all the intricate designs and carvings all done by hand. I was scared to death watching you climb those steps with no hand railings. As to the wine festival: I am amazed that you could still walk a straight line after drinking so much. You can sure hold your wine. The food looked so delicious too: healthy and edible. Oh, how can I forget that cable car ride. Better you than me. Don't look down. Mind boggling just watching the vast expanse of land below and praying to God that you make it back safely. Anyway, I watched the entire video with few breaks in between but it was enjoyable especially at the wine festival. En vino veritas. Truth be told, were you a little buzzed?🤣🤣🤣. Have a great day.🙏🤗❤️🇹🇹🇨🇦
