Armenia is said to be like an inaccessible fortress. At the crossroads of Asia and Europe, 90% of the territory of this small Caucasian republic rises above 1000 meters. On December 7, 1988, in eight seconds, a terrible earthquake wiped out entire villages: 30,000 dead. Many have since left. Arman, 32, and his father have decided to stay. Before the earthquake, their village had just over 1,000 inhabitants. Today, they are only twelve. With their ancient Jigouli, a robust Russian car, they face the snowy tracks to deliver to the lonely villagers their only wealth: potatoes. Independent since 1991, following the collapse of the USSR, Armenia is slowly rebuilding its economy. Through the tenacious mist, the carcasses of old Russian factories emerge like ghosts. Here, work is rare Aris is an engineer. With five of his friends, restaurateur or even taxi, they will improvise lumberjacks: the only job they have found to earn a small salary. Their antique Russian truck still has to pass through the forest roads! Armin is Russian, Arman Armenian. The two friends, great lovers of homemade vodka, live halfway around the world: the village of Tsar, set on a plateau, bordered by sheer cliffs. Once a month, they have to bring the women of the village to stock up, their survival depends on it. The nearest town is only forty kilometers away, but the snow and the vertiginous track make the trip perilous.

8:28 One of the problems with these documentaries is that we are dealing with the English translation of the French translation of what was originally said. In this case, it's a good bet that the driver did not say he was shifting into first gear, but rather that he was shifting into low range, a belief supported by how he's reaching down for the transfer case lever. Like all proper 4x4s, his UAZ 452 van has a two-speed transfer case behind the regular gearbox, operated by a separate shift lever. Low range is used for difficult situations and offers maximum torque and maximum engine braking, exactly what was needed in that situation.

Yes, at minute 19:44, the Iranian man whose truck fell in the valley says at the end that "the Armenians took me to the hospital, but in the translation it is said that the roads of Armenia are terrible", which does not seem to have been accidental.

Until the elites in the west especially the USA 🇺🇸 when they exert their evil materialist influence they sow discontent. I've lived with people who have dirt floors and few modern possessions happy with their lot until us evil Americans convince them how miserable they are. How superstitious they are for their customs and their God. How evil their male dominated lives are. How they should except all the deviants in their villages and cities. Gay marriage 💑 queen values should be celebrated. Damn the 🇺🇸.

I think they sincerely taped the most unlucky armenians of the whole country. I am not Armenian, never been in Armenia, but I have a big interest over Caucasus things, I watched tons of videos about Armenia and nearby countries. They are not rich, of course, but the majority of armenian population live in cities and towns with modern commodities, like billion of other people in the whole world, so they are not forced to descend mountains to go to a grocery store and to climb mountains to come back to their homes.

I know it’s hard for everyone atm except the mega rich and people born into something like royalty. Hopefully someone rich enough reads my comment and thinks, you haven’t got pockets in your coffin and my family will be ok if I spent 10 mill on goin and helping out people instead of buying a new boat or house when they already have a few of them already. It’s what i would like to do but the chances of that are slim to none. Even if I help one village out it would make me happy seeing them and they’re kids with a bit of relief on their faces. It’s not gonna make the life as we have it, but safer reliable transportation with snow chains, 4x4 power, winches, big light to see well ahead etc stuff like roofing, bedding, mattresses, farming equipment is a help. I know all this modern equipment isn’t easy to fix for them so would let them get stuff that’s local to them and not a 2022 Land Rover defender unless that’s what they want lol. It’s a thought and have a nice rest of the holidays.

As an Armenian watching this documentary, I can say two things. 1. The subtitles often misinterpret what people are actually saying, to put it mildly. Mostly those subtitles are plain wrong. 2. Not all Armenian roads are like the ones shown in this video. Yeah, our counrty is mostly mountains, but roads like this are an exception, not the rule.

Armenian Power came from being a Protection Group to Protect Their People from attacks by Democrat Voters, same as with why MS13 and many Asian Groups exist today. This after trying to Block All of Their Immigration to America and Voting Against Enclaves like Little Armenia, Thai Town, Little Saigon, etc, etc. Thai Town was actually where Armenians wanted Little Armenian but, The Thais won it through a Raffle by the City between the two respective Groups. Historic Olvera Street was also one of many places in now Gentrified Los Angeles that was dangerous for Non-Latinos to venture into years ago. The most violent Democrat Voters being Latino Sureno Street Gangs. Neo Nazi National Socialist Types also claimed Left until Obama openly started going after The White Race during his two terms.

The Author says that Armenia entered into conflict with Azerbaijan. But the fact is that Armenia occupied Azerbaijan's territory and forced about 1 mln. local Azerbaijanis to leave their homes and made them IDP, which is the reason for the conflict. Unfortunately, the occupational policy of the Armenian government made current Armenia isolated from its neighbours. As a result, ordinary peoples suffer from that. Turkey closed its border, not for the reason of genocide. The main reason was the occupation of Azerbaijan territories. The author should also revise this fact in this video.

Man, the fact that some people actually believe this dumb propoganda is so disheartening. Artsakh (or Nagorno Karabach) is historically armenian and has always been populated with armenians, I know because i have friends, family and ancestors from there. I mean, I hate our government too, its super corrupt, but to call it occubational is silly, considering the type of hatefull stuff Aliev says and promises.

Important note, this documentary was produced prior to azerbaijans terrorism over Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) and Armenia. Also all these horrible roads are on the outskirts, far from any towns or cities. Also, the roads between Georgia and Armenia are far from catastrophic. Music used is also far from anything related to Armenians.

Azerbaijan started the second war in 2020 to regain its internationally recognized territory.
