Trying MINTY SWEET PAAN + Temple Hopping in INDIA'S HOLIEST CITY | Varanasi, India

During my trip to India, I made it my mission to experience Varanasi to the fullest! Varanasi is India's holiest city, it is also known as the city of temples and they are famous for their minty sweet paan!

As soon as I arrived in Varanasi my Airbnb host Himanshu took me to his place to drop off the bags and then we hopped on his scooter and started exploring Varanasi.
Our first stop was New Vishawatha Temple which is dedicated to Lord Shiva who is the all mighty god in the Hindu religion. It has the highest temple tower in the world. Our next stop is Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple, unfortunately we could not film inside.
We made a quick stop at Keshave Paan shop, Varanasi's most famous Paan shop. Paan is basically a leaf that is filmed with mints, then wrapped in silver. This one is just to refresh your pallet after eating. You eat it, chew it and spit it out!
We then headed to one of the most important temples in Varanasi, Durga Mandir Temple. Lord Durga is famous for being the god that destroys evil!
Our last stop of the day was the Ganges river. We hopped on a boat at the Assi Ghat which is at the beginning of the 84 ghats that make up India's holiest city. We took at 3 and half hour boat ride along all the ghats and ended at the Ganges Aarti ceremony.

The true beauty of Kaashi(also known as Varanasi)...is the beautiful, awe-inspiring confluence of various different cultures/communities living & thriving side by side. While the entire Indian subcontinent was partitioned along religious lines which provoked ghastly riots...this ancient land of Lord Shiva NEVER saw any rioting among its people. People of all types of communities continued to live together. Even in America, discussion on religion & politics are frowned upon & usually avoided...but in Varanasi. every day in the numerous tea stalls...you would find Hindus, Sikhs & Muslims discussing, debating all the intricacies of politics & religion while sipping a hot cup of tea. It is THIS sublime beauty of Varanasi that you would not be able to capture in just one day..you're gonna have to stay there for sometime...only then will you start to get MESMERIZED at this stunning beauty which can guide the rest of the world on how to live in a deeply multicultural, diverse society..

Ask your guide for traditional (Puri Sabzi) at RAM BHANDAR at Thatheri Bazar + Blue Lassi World + Kashi Chat Bhandar at Gowdolia + Thandai (Cannabis shake) at Gowdolia. [You should NOT miss this if you are in Varanasi .*incompletejourney*] And don't forget to visit Sarnath .

Hi David, U should try the Lassi as Lassi Blue(a 10 mins walk from Dashawamedha Ghat). They have a wide variety of flavours. For the Ganga Aarti the view is better if you are on the Ghat then the boat.

yes the next day I tried it.. I was still very sick here but cut all that from the video.. Was sick for 6 straight days from the day I arrived in Agra until the day I arrive in Jaipur.. :)

Hey man its the oldest city in the world with the oldest practiced religion in the world, Ashes of anything dead dont hurt unless you consume it. You can burn everything in the world except ash.
